Its been a very exciting journey for EYESCLOSED to this point. EYESCLOSED formed at the start of 2000 and proceeded to release a stunning debut Metal EP called A statement of intent in the autumn of that year. Phantom FM picked up on all three tracks on this EP, continuously airing them on the dedicated rock show. EYESCLOSED have been interviewed on three separate occasions on this much loved channel.
To date since that EP release EYESCLOSED have played extensively on the live Metal circuit, playing many headline shows in the most prestigious of venues, including the Temple Bar Music Centre and Whelans. A fearsome live reputation guaranteed the band a loyal following and resulted in the band securing some of the most sought after support slots going in the live Metal scene in Ireland. As a result EYESCLOSED earned enormous respect from the countrys premier promoters MCD. This resulted in EYESCLOSED playing live with some of the biggest names in Metal including Machine Head, Suicidal Tendencies, Henry Rollins, WASP, Paradise Lost to name a few.
Their search for a unique style of heavy music combined with their focus to write quality songs, develop a unique sound, in conjunction with the production values they believe in and their professionalism has meant a serious amount of time and effort has been invested in producing their astonishing Metal sounds. Their brand new EP Songs inspired by Phi was recorded in Creamy Sonic Studios by Peter Slankster who recently worked with Silver Addictive, Mike Got Spiked and Imperial Teen in the USA. The EP has been mastered by the enormously respected New York based sound artist Jody Elff. Jody is most famous for his work with the world famous stars Laurie Anderson and Lou Reed. He was inspired to work with Eyesclosed after meeting the band as they collaborated with the National Theater of the United States of America (for which Jody was sound designer) during the Dublin Fringe Festival in 2002.
For Eyesclosed, a Metal band not afraid to embrace artistic values and push musical boundaries through vision and musical ability, the future looks very exciting. Eyesclosed are currently working with the Film production company October 11 on the much publicised cutting edge movie 3 Crosses. Expect to see and hear a lot about them in the near future. Alternatively you can be witness something very special first hand as the band complete a comprehensive tour of Ireland in support of Songs..... Future plans include bringing their stage show to an international audience with pans to tour extensively in Europe and beyond.
