To all the friends and fans of Cliff Davies, we at Equametric Studio want to extend our condolences. Sunday, April 13, 2008, our friend and chief engineer, Cliff Davies, passed away suddenly at his home in Dallas, Georgia.
Here and throughout the world Cliff and his many talents will be sorely missed by his loyal fans. Known mainly as producer and drummer for Ted Nugent, Cliff was content to be in the background, simply enjoying Rock & Roll. The credit for all his talents are often missed. Few fans realize Cliff co-wrote, arranged, and produced Ted Nugent's best known hits. He didn't receive credit, he didn't ask for credit.
In 2005, he began work on the development of the Rock and Roll Remembers Foundation. The foundation, in Cliff's words, was a long time in coming as there was a need that needed to be filled. Again, our friend was thinking of others.
Because the foundation was so close to Cliff's heart, we are giving you the Rock and Roll Remembers link in hopes you will chose this foundation as your favorite charity. www.rockandrollremembers.org
We are awaiting details from the family concerning a memorial service and will post any information here as soon as we receive it. For those who would like to express their thoughts you may do so here and all will be given to the family.
Cliff has gone to Rock and Roll Heaven and although we miss him dearly, we believe he is having a wonderful reunion with some of the greatest musicians we have lost over the years. May he Rest in Peace.

Cliff Davies was a world class virtuoso and musical genius of the highest order. His special touch, talent and spirit permeated each and every one of my classics with not only his supremely soulful drumming, but also with his vocal guidance and arrangement creativity. As a live performer he was every guitarist's dream rhythm god, driving my high energy MotorCity R&B rock to its most soulful effect. His work ethic, dedication and always wonderful sense of humor played an enormous positive role in a very important time of my life. His friendship glowed with goodwill and decency. We have lost one of the greatest soulbrother Funkbrother BloodBrothers of alltimes. In my music and in the wind, he's still alive.
This shocked me very much. Cliff Davies was a major influence on my drumming and I am a big fan of him. I am so sad to hear of his death. As Ted would say "In the wind he's still alive".
Rest in Peace CLIFF! I always loved your drumming.
Cheers, Volker
Ted quotes: "Celebrate his magnificent drumming on Stranglehold & MotorCity Madhouse & his great lead vocals on Stormtroopin!! Only forever!"
"His drumming on my masterpieces will live forever. Sometime ya wanna git hi, sometimes ya gotta start low, some people think they gonna die someday I got news ya never got to go!! BOLERO!!"
