You REALLY want to know more about ME? I'm flattered! LOL
I work for a Trenton non-profit, where I teach computer literacy to at-risk teenagers and serve as a part-time IT guy. I am an engineer by background, and keep up with the field. I have expertise at controls, dynamics, simulation, rhetoric, and at advising young entrepreneurs.
So here's why I do this:
(1) Once I worked for a start-up -- one which ultimately tanked -- and I've wanted to be involved in that life ever since. I want to taste success!
(2) And success breeds success. Each time these three former students have something work out for them, it increases their confidence and helps them do things better the next time. My confidence is increased too.
(3) Any mentoring is just as good for the mentor as for the student. Their ideas shake my previously-held notions and give me more to think about. Plus, they appreciate the input, even years after they get out of the classroom.
(4) There are board seats waiting for me when they become far enough along to need boards. LOL
I also love to walk, drive, read, write, see MOVIES, cook, play cards and solve puzzles, and of course spend time with my two terrific kids whenever I can.
If you look at my MySpace here, you'll see a fair number of my friends are pro wrestlers or super-heroes, two of my interests. I admit I like to geek out once in a while. LOL
But what I need more of in my life is friends. Nobody can ever have too many; I admit I have far too few. I can be a very good one! Why not give me a try? Get a copy of my widget and stick it on yer Web site! (Doesn't work on MySpace though. Sorry.)
