Gerard and his son Nathan James of "En Gedi" have loved music their entire lives; as they both grew up listening to music legends like Robert Johnson and Led Zeppelin, just two of many artists who inspired En Gedi's "metal blues" style. However, Gerard and Nathan were not content with simply listening, they wanted to put their deep love and appreciation for music into practice. So it was that during the winter of 1999 they formed "En Gedi", which they named after a Biblical city of the same name.
From the beginning, one of their key ideas has been to think big and to act big. It only makes sense then that En Gedi released their first CD within their first three years after forming. Entitled "En Gedi One', the band's debut album consisted of ten original songs. This first recording succeeded in gaining the band's entry into various shows and festivals, allowing them to bring some powerful rock and blues to an older generation longing for a taste of the old days, as well as to a younger generation eager to hear new things.
Learning from their experiences making the first CD, En Gedi switched to a new and established studio to record their second album "Like a Train" in 2005. Their most successful CD to date, songs off of "Like a Train" have been featured on KGLE 590 AM, Christian Blues.net, as well as other radio stations. Since the release of this second album En Gedi has found itself traveling as far as Arkansas and Michigan to spread their rock'n blues far and wide.
In 2006 Gerard and Nathan began buying their own recording equipment, so that they would be able to record and mix their next CD on their own. The third and latest En Gedi CD, "No Room for Sleep" was released early in 2008; being entirely recorded and mixed by the band. Butch Watkins of Sharecropper Christian Radio described "No Room for Sleep" as having "Thought provoking lyrics, with a musical style that is pure Blues in its most basic form".
With each new CD, the metal-blues duo virtually reinvents themselves, from changing their sound to just delivering more powerful and more moving songs.

FIRST I WOULD LIKE TO SAY, "THANK YOU, LORD GOD, FOR GIVING ME A TOUNGE OF THE LEARNED, THAT I SHOULD KNOW HOW TO SPEAK A WORD IN SEASON TO [HIM] THAT IS WEARY"(Isa.50:4 KJV). SECOND, IT IS AN HONOR AND A PRIVILEDGE TO BE ABLE TO DISPENSE THE WORD OF GOD, WITH KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING. AND I THANK YOU, MY MYSPACE FRIENDS, WHO RECEIVE "THAT WORD" WITH GLADNESS; THE REWARD OF JOY THAT I "DO" RECEIVE FROM ABBA, MAKES IT ALL WORTH GETTING UP FOR EACH MORNING, AND DOING IT ALL OVER AGAIN TOMORROW. THANK YOU En Gedi, FOR COMING BACK AND SHARING WITH ME THE JOY OF RECEIEVING "THAT WORD"; AND MAY THE LORD CONTINUE TO EMPOWER YOU TO PROSPER AND BE IN PERFECT HEALTH EVEN AS YOUR SOUL PROSPERS, IN JESUS' MIGHTY NAME I PRAY, AMEN! Your Brother in Christ, Richard -aka- MEGA VOICES NOW!

"When you come to the edge of all the light you know, and are about to step off into the darkness of the unknown, faith is knowing one of two things will happen: there will be something solid to stand on, or you will be taught how to fly."
