"Standout performer" Atlanta Music Guide
"there is a mature, thought-provoking singer-songwriter at
work here.... all incredibly good songs that push the limits of
singer-songwriter artistry." Maverick Magazine UK
“The morning cars crank in the drive/ The county’s low suburban cry/ Crooked tree lean close to my bed/ For a taste I have sold my soul red/ But the blue bird that sings brings hope to my head” sings EKB on the title track of her new record Paint My Heart White. Thought-provoking testaments of hope and heartache, EKB writes a song like she paints a portrait—with passion and sincerity.
Set for independent release in March 2008, Emily latest recording "Paint My Heart White" was made at 800 East Studios in a remarkable six days, where producer/ aritist Clay Cook engineered, mixed, and performed on what he calls “a dark Joni Mitchell album”. Special guests who added their talented voices to the album include: Adrianne, Nate Borofsky (of Girlyman), Vanessa Olivarez, Nicholas Niespodziani and Mark Cobb (of Y.O.U.), and Shawn Mullins.
Both songwriter and painter, EKB resides in Atlanta. Born in a small town Ringgold, Georgia, Emily Kate Boyd got her first try at live performance in the living rooms and cafes of neighboring Chattanooga, Tennessee.
After receiving a degree in fine art, Emily moved to Atlanta to make the Wonder EP with the help of producer/ artist Molly Bancroft in Feb 2006.
After collaboration on Wonder EP, Molly Bancroft graciously invited Emily to co-write lyrics and perform on Molly's 2006 release "Red Dirt Diaries". To hear the final product
