"Ellery exhibited the verve, drive and precision of the best Celtic music...a remarkable talent." -Boston Herald
Ellery Klein's fiddling encompasses both old-style traditional Irish playing and high-energy music flavored with Scottish and American sounds. Her love of music is evident to audiences, who enjoy her great energy and skillful, delicate playing.
Up until April 2007, Ellery toured nationwide full-time with Gaelic Storm, whose albums have consistently climbed the Billboard world music charts. She joined the band in 2003 and is featured on their 2006 release,Bring Yer Wellies, their fifth recording, "How are we Getting Home?" and the DVD "Gaelic Storm: Live in Chicago!
She has left Gaelic Storm to pursue another creative venture, motherhood! She plans to return to music after taking a few months' break from performing- to focus on welcoming her son into the world. Stay tuned for what is next!
Ellery completed an M.A. in Traditional Irish Music Performance at the University of Limerick's Irish World Music Center in 2001. That year, she also self-produced and recorded her solo CD "Salt & Pepper," a recording the Irish American news called "a stunning debut".
In 2001 and 2002, she toured with Irish banjo player Olive Brennan and Scottish pianist James Ross. Their fresh, innovative approach to traditional music was very well received. Ellery has also toured with Whisky Before Breakfast, jighead and Cathy Ryan. Her fiddling can be heard on the soundtrack of the DVD series The Golden Era of Nascar.
Her most recent release is a collaboration with Gaelic Storm drummer, Ryan Lacey, on a cd of music tailored for Irish dancers, Step Into the Beat: Modern Irish Dance Music.
Hey Ellery, congrats on the book! I'm not a complete idiot yet, but I'm sure I will be very soon -- and when I am, perhaps I _will_ take up the fiddle. *waaa-waa-waa-waaaaaa* Hope you and the family are well. Would be great to play some tunes some day -- you should drop in on the Tuesday sesh at John Harvard's.

Thank you so much for introducing me to your circle of friends.
I find your music to be beautifully enchanting, energizing, toe taping good clean fun, something that I know will keep on drawing me back again and again. I can't thank you enough for alerting me to your joyous tunes. Bravo!!!
Wishing you happiness and tranquility in all things.
Here's a peaceful scene, not far from where I live, to add to your local Bostonian greenery, as a souvenir upon which to reflect, and for good luck.
Old Copperplate, New Copperplate -- who can tell? Hey, it was just great to hear you playing again. Thanks again for a fun time, and have a nice trip. And rub Lincoln's head for me.
Thanks for the add Ellery! We are glad to hear everything is going well with the baby. Gaelic Storm was in Dubuque a couple weeks ago. A bunch of us went - we missed you on stage. Hope to see you again in the future at Frank O'Dowd's in Galena Illinois.
Ellery! It's 7:00 AM Patrick and I are getting ready to leave for Floyd, VA to begin this 12 week tour. I was hoping to hear the good news by now, but it ought to be any day now. I can't wait for the pictures! Cheers, Pete
