Biography Date: February 14th 2007
Since 1990 Ellen has been addicted to taking her music on the road. Through Canada, the U.S., Mexico, Belize, Australia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Fiji, Korea, Japan, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Thailand and Laos, Ellen has shared her songs. In turn she was given the experiences that have enhanced her lyrical and musical style. However, after 6 years in Toronto the earth child Ellen Carol has transformed into a street savvy songstress. She still sports her peace love and rock and roll roots and they have placed many opportunities to grow on her concrete path.
In 2005 Ellen was asked to record some back up vocals by fellow acoustic artist Nigel Barnes, who has been in the music industry for nearly 30 years. Ellen has no idea Nigel had performed with notable people such as Ian Thomas and Ron Sexsmith when she agreed to the project.
The mixing of the project took her to The Gas Station where she was introduced to Don Kerr who mentioned he was building a new studio in his home. “I would love to help with the process. I am pretty handy.” Ellen piped up from the corner. Until then she was quietly drinking coffee and watching Mr. Kerr work his magic. At the end of the day Don took her cd “Buttercup Hamsterjuice” to listen to and a couple months later he took her up on her offer to help in the construction of the studio. “What an incredible experience. Soundproofing is quite the extensive process. Now I know how to build a studio. If only I could run one.” She laughed. Well she doesn’t have to, as she will be testing out Don’s new studio this October. “I am a little overwhelmed… I am going to be recorded in a studio I helped build. Pretty crazy.”
Besides performing regularly in the GTA and the surrounding area with a variety of local acts such as Arthur Renwick, Lucy and Bri-anne Swan to name a few, Ellen Carol is in the process of marketing her new project, Frog Barn Productions, that she founded with Nigel Barnes. Not only is FBP an independent record label but Ellen & Nigel have developed a variety of music programs and interactive performances to be offered at festivals and elementary schools.

Thanks EC. I have to come out and see you sometime....tough call though ...Grossman's or the Cadillac. I predict Grossman's as I have fond memories of that place.
Ellen, It was a pleasure meeting you and barking with your dog amidst our performance lastnight. Your music has a lovely and authentic vintage sweetness to it. Much luck and success to you~!
