Elevaters are a Los Angeles based sextet that blend funk, rock, hip hop, and soul into an accessible sound that draws audiences from all backgrounds.
Elevaters have played alongside hip hop luminaries KRS-One, De La Soul, and Medusa. They attract large crowds to venues such as: House of Blues, Avalon, Sunset Junction, Key Club, Roxy, Viper Room, The Mint, and Temple Bar. The energy between the six men and their audience truly lifts the mind, body and spirit.
WHAT IT IS
The group was rated "One of the top ten underground hip-hop and soul artists of 2006’ by online magazine www.hiphoprnbsoul.com in shared company with Zion-I, Strange Fruit Project, and Pharoahe Monch.Their EP's first single "Let's Get Real" was featured in Dane Cook's Tourgasm on HBO.
Elevaters released their first full length album "Rising" in May 2007. The album's first single "The One" has been in rotation on KCRW
s Chocolate City, hosted by Garth Trinidad. The album is also being played on college radio stations across the country.
WHERE WE'RE GOING
Elevaters have returned from touring the Pacific Northwest in Spring 2008 and are currently reaching out to a larger audience through radio play, media licensing, publicity and distribution.
Food 4 Thought Records is currently working on a compilation mixtape and is inviting all artist to submit their tracks to j_pais@yahoo.com... Their are no fees/no cost to the artist to join the mixtape. No release date has been set and no mixtape name has been decided.
