   About Elephant Shelf
Elephant Shelf:

See www.elephantshelf.com for upcoming gigs and loads more stuff!

Think of the devil!

Think about the jungle!!

Think of real deep heat!!!

Think different!!!!!

Why the devil? Because hot guitarist Vicky Martin used to be an exorcist, and she knows the devils tricks.

Why Jungle?? Well come on baby, this band is called Elephant Shelf and where do elephants come from?

Why heat? Because this band is hot - their rhythms are hot, like a fever that makes you sweat, and sweat, and sweat some more...

Why different? Because these mothers are led by two transgendered beauties, that's 'Miss' Vicky Martin and 'Princess' Diana Stone, and they go out into the world and they strut their rock 'n roll stuff.

A Question - Did you hear about the film 300? Did you ever hear of the 300 at Sparta

Well forget the film and forget the Spartans - because, and man let's shout it out LOUD!! The Shelf topped the lot with 336 gigs in 3 years.

And so it just gets hotter, it just gets fevered - receptions at recent gigs, Bull & Gate, Olivier's, Kings Head Islington, Music Palace and Portobello Gold, were ecstatic, orgasmic even.

It was good, Shelf life was always good, life with Jessie Pie was exciting now its mega exciting and its getting ever better: new arrival Rosie Swan has added an even sharper edge to the band, now it cuts, lacerates like the teeth of a great white - witness their amazing reception at the recent Bull & Gate gig.

THESE SHELFERS well they is bringing the real original R&B back home and d'ya know where they've been?

They've been all along that long trodden time honoured road of the blues

Just see who they met on the way; Jimi Hendrix, who met and talked to Vicky at the Manor House North London '...way way back...'. Eric Clapton, Brian Jones, Ian Anderson all of whom met our Vicky.

And on that same highway, the band's multi-instrumental genius Diana Stone worked with , Johnny Winter, Hawkwind and Roy Harper and Elton John. As Lady Di says, "I hope that when people listen to us they can really hear the stuff that all those great musicians passed on to me".

And our Vicky? Well she "Just loves Keef", Keith Richards that is and Vicky says "Keith has always played the real stuff and stayed real true to it, I hope that he would recognize that Elephant Shelf are treading that same road.

What about roads trodden by Terry McInerny, Rob Charles, and Dan Foster, the rest of the Shelf's hot rhythm line up - well just cruise the web-site and you'll be blown away to see who they've met, who they've played with and who has actually played with this band of blessed minstrels.

On this page you'll find the band's galactically acclaimed signature tune Snakebite, and three other hot tracks.

But this is just a taster, come to one of the bands numerous and wildly exciting live gigs. COME FEEL THE HEAT & CATCH THE FEVER. Gigs Lemonrock gig guide

When are you in Brighton again??

For some reason I've stopped recieving the newsletter... Oh, dear!
Kevin Charles Dunford

Aug 11 2006 2:41 PM

Dear Shelf,

I too play Maddens with the slightly less popular although equally enigmatic Sons of Kong.

Elephant Shelf is some kind of euphanism, no?

Innocently,

Kevin
