Electric Monk consists of four bad-mannered scoundrels from Helsinki - Finland. Aged between 21 and 24, so far they have spent their lives hanging around in cheap bars and shady apartments. With nothing to lose and nothing else to look for in the future, they are turning all their left-over energy into creating music that grabs your ass from behind and makes it move to the rhythm of life itself.
The music they play is raw & twisted rock'n'roll that takes influences everywhere from 50s jazz to late 80s computer game soundtracks. However, the main influence of the band is still the classic rock music released in 60s and 70s.
Their message is simple: life is to be enjoyed, the world is a strange place, girls are impossible to understand, money and fame are unnecessary, and finally: wine is good.
History: Electric Monk was formed in early summer 2004 on the smoking ruins of recently disbanded garage rock band Needles Hate People. New songs flowed almost magically easily out of Ile's mind and the band got their act together in just two months' time before their first gig in August '04. Willing & able to play any gig offered, the group soon achieved local fame as a wild live act who's raw energy and quick soundchecks were unmatched amongst fellow bands.
