"This is country Roots rediscovered and played the way it was always meant to be played." SmartChoiceMusic.com "Easterling tussles her country ballads as if they were hair, leaving the strands sweetly knotted. Her voice can be a soaring falsetto or a raspy whirl. She’s not your usual country girl and, for her music’s sake, her attitude is very welcome." Otis Taylor, The State (Pick of the Week) "Easterling has created an enchanting brand of neo-traditionalist country that mixes hard-edged honky tonk with fetching ballads. Her voice is a gorgeous instrument." Jim McGuinness, Kingsport Times "Enjoyable from beginning to end. Angela has her finger (and voice) on the pulse of the style." Robert Francos, Jersey Beat "Songs that are sure to get your toes tappin', whether they're in cowboy boots, business shoes or flip-flops."
Craig Ostroff, Montgomery News Ticket
Angela Easterling was raised in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the daughter of a Baptist minister. Much of her childhood was spent on the farm that has been in her family for seven generations. Country roots run deep for Angela, a native of Taylors, South Carolina; but ironically, it wasn't until she moved to Los Angeles, that the country calling in her soul became a siren's song. A performer all her life, Angela had begun playing guitar and writing songs while studying at Emerson College in Boston. More and more her music returned to the place her heart called home.
Angela has embraced her heritage in a big way as a writer and an artist on her debut album, "Earning Her Wings", chosen as "Americana Pick of the Year" by Smart Choice Music. She is currently touring the East Coast, having appeared on the bill with such artists as Lucinda Williams, Deana Carter, Dave Alvin, Victoria Williams and Michelle Shocked out west. She opened for the legendary Ray Price (at the Birchmere), Suzy Bogguss (Sellersville Theatre) as well as the Oak Ridge Boys and Radney Foster. Angela's music has been played on such radio stations as Indie 103.1 in Los Angeles and featured in commercials (Southwestern Bell). Several of her songs were used in the series "Horsepower" on Animal Planet. For more info on Angela, including bio, tour dates, and audio downloads, please visit www.angelaeasterling.com.
