you may know of more music and have been exposed to more as well, but it doesnt mean that its anygood, just knowing about something doesnt mean its good, britney spears has put out a few records and been in the record business as well, that doesnt help the fact that she sucks ass, now dont come back and say
"well she sold _____ amount of records" its a different era now with comericalization and mtv trl pushing all this crap with no substance down stupid teen kids throats saying buy me and be cool, all your friends are. music isnt the same nemore, nobody lasts truly more than 5-6 cds at a max, its sad but that is just the culture. im sure a few of my bands will be around for a while, nirvana, rage against the machine, sadly to say metallica, i know there are more and it is debateable, but come on ani defranco, wtf? and the reason classical music is still around is because it has some deminer and prestige of upper class intelligence so it is taught to the children in school as well as college kids, but there is just as good if not better examples out there that dont get the credit. music isnt about music nemore, its about image and commercialization, its hard to find substance and meaning cause peoople dont care about it nemore, and without substance and meaning it wont be relavent for that long, you know why, cause im a bad boy for life who did it for the nookie and then cried you a river
