About me:
I'm running for Congress as a Republican in Indiana's 5th District. You can find more information on my campaign at my website (www.drjohnmcgoff.com), but here's a quick biographical sketch:
I was born and raised in Indianapolis, and I'm proud to be a lifelong Hoosier. I graduated from Indiana University and Indiana University Medical School. I work as an emergency doctor at Community Hospitals (where I also sit on the board of directors) and I've been active in the military for the last 25 years (currently a Colonel in the Indiana National Guard and Commander of the 181st Medical Unit, and spent time on the battlefields of Iraq and Afghanistan last summer as a flight surgeon for the Air Force).
I served two terms as Marion County Coroner, was a healthcare policy advisor to Mitch Daniels gubernatorial campaign, was a member of his transition team after he was elected, and went on an official trade mission to Central America with Lt. Gov. Becky Skillman last year.
My wife Karen and I have been married for 20 years, and we have an 11-year old daughter named Ava.
