Where to turn?
Whom should we support in the elections of 2008? It seems like 2008 is a repeat in many ways of 2004. We have the evils and empty promises of Socialism in both Republican and Democrat parties. In 2004, America chose the lesser of two evils. Yet, the dark fruits of Socialism that the serpents in Washington tempt us to eat are only there to betray us to the real agenda: A totalitarian Communist state the likes of which will make Soviet Russia look like a mere scuffle in a kiddie sandbox!
I have seen the squiggling, squirming, and constant shifting of position and principle put on by Darth John McCain Sidious and Darth Barack Obama Maul. Thankfully, Cruella Hillary Clinton DeVil is out of the runnings. But that's hardly good enough! Even if we choose one over the other, electing one of these Sith above is still joining the Sith!
So I'm compelled to ask...what are the alternatives? Eat the fruit, though I, like Adam, am not deceived? (1 Tim. 2:14)
Recently, I have been watching Glenn Beck's program on CNN Headline News. I was very amused to learn of Bob Barr. A man who, like Ron Paul, truly believes that we need to find strength in our own ingenuity; not in Washington. It is not too late for us to discover that we can live in a free society, help the hungry, avoid needless entanglement in pointless wars, AND live our happy lifestyles - WITHOUT doing the harm to the environment that the loons in Washington and in the EPA swear will befall us!
My parents do not yet share my enthusiasm to jump on the Libertarian bandwagon, so I shall wait a while yet before I make anything official. But with each hour, I grow more convinced that my options are limited. Bob Barr could very well get my vote this Fall, if indeed I vote at all.
I voted for the lesser of two evils last time. And someone even more evil than John Kerry seized the opportunity to set up his false face to hide what little his false heart doth know. McCain, like Bush, is a hedgehog. Kerry was a porcupine. But the Obamination himself will feel more like an iron maiden, if we elect him! Why must we send these men's thorns of bad ideas to gouge out the eyes of liberty?
Many forget, but it was the Democrats under Clinton who first proposed - and authorized - many of the less-than-constitutional measures that wound up being included in the Patriot Act under Bush. Both parties have broken their promises, and the Dems want to raise our taxes to make us pay for their mistakes.
I am not yet ready to tell any of you whom to vote for. But my faith in the mainstream parties and their system has never been so weak. Consider wisely whom you choose. You have a responsibility to protect your neighbors from tyranny in all its forms!
