About me: www.caluburlesque.com coming soon! Brazilian by way of London, I have always been in the spotlight ever since I was a child. My modeling career started at the age of 5 when I did various children’s fashion shows and print work.Plus just being a absolute ham. Commercial work continued on into my college years, where I did ads for Foster’s lager, Stussy Sportswear and more. At the same time, I was also a DJing my way through Europe, with a regular spots at Ministry of Sound in my home in London. Alas, my love for all things vintage, burlesque and the hot rod lifestyle brought me to the US where I've made my home for the last 11 years here in Atlanta, GA .I am also a tattoo artist @ Permanent Ink Tattoo in Decatur , Ga.I apprenticed under Wes Lingerfelt @ Eternal Expressions and Tony Olivas Sacerd Heart Tattoo.
I founded the Atlanta based troupe, "The Dollsquad Burlesque Revue." For the last 8 years, we have blended vaudeville, satire, punk, rock, song and dance and sexy camp - performing with the likes of Dita Von Teese, The World Famous Pontani Sisters,Torchy Taboo, Jesco White The Dancing Outlaw and at events such as NYC Burlesque Festival, Heavy Rebel Weekender, Rockabilly Rumble, Drive-Invasion,Monster Bash, Hukilau and more. My latest venture is “Calu’s Lil’ Go Go Peep Show” ,where i perform solo, as much as i love the troupe thing, its hard work dealing with so many people. My love for all things horror related has brought out the the devil in me, with such acts as my bloody Valentine,Canniabals sacrifice and more.I am not your mainstream pin up,nor will i ever try to be.I enjoy doing a variety burlesque.I may not look classic but i also do some straight up classic acts too.
I have much in store for my fans new and old. “Gentlemen (and ladies), start your engines!”
You can also catch me in numerous B movies such as Cheerleader Autopsy, Vampires Anonymous, Goddamn Frankenstein, South of Valhalla and Run Ronnie Run. I've also had the pleasure of gracing the covers of Tattoo Revue, International Tattoo, Prick Magazine and have been featured in The Face UK, Best of Atlanta (3 years in a row), Ol’ Skool Rodz, Atlanta Journal and Constitution, Creative Loafing, Access Atlanta, The Horse, Excitement Magazine, Car Culture Deluxe and more. I can also can be seen burlesque dancing on MTV in the Mastadon video for “Blood and Thunder” (side show fun!).
Thanks for visiting me and check back often for news, events and pics! xox, Calu
