Dj Teknikz stands out due to the inimitability of his style influenced by his heritage and exposure to various genres of music, but his love of hiphop overcomes all.
With his rookie mixtapes (If u buyin, We sellin series) in heavy circulation in the south, Dj Teknikz has moved on to set new standards with his Georgia Muscle Series, which has been a trendsetting series not just for Dj Teknikz and the south but the whole mixtape game!
Displaying more than just exclusive tracks on his mixtapes, he also proves why they call him Teknikz with blends, tricks and his own remixes and custom freestyles from some of your favorite street artists.
Dj Teknikz was recognized at the 2006 Southern Entertainment Awards as the MIXTAPE DJ ROOKIE OF THE YEAR, while also racking up 13 other nominations.
In 2007 he won Best Rap Mixtape of the year (Georgia Power 3) and Best GFX on a MIXTAPE (Year of the Hustlers), while racking up an impressive 11 nominations in different categories.
Dj Teknikz is also the official dj for Block Ent / Bad Boy south artist “Gorilla Zoe”. Asked how he manages to be on tour, release mixtapes and still hold down his club gigs, his response was simply “I do it for the streets!”
