I started playing alto sax at an early age. I played in jazz bands & marching bands & eventually started playing synths in high school. Got my first sampling keyboard in 1986.
Spent last few years of the 80's in Mammoth skiing, snowboarding & recording freaky mixtapes with my brother Kyle in the basement of our Jahan house using the Ensonique Mirage & the Korg synth our mother got for Christmas. I took the next seven years off music.
I didn't get back into it until the mid 90's when I moved to North Hollywood & met Jay Naked who got me into djing & drum & bass music. I used to spend many late nights jamming with Jay and IC Cole & John Knee & Don Rockin & sometimes even The Chief. In 1999 I got my turntables and an apple G3 computer.
The first few years after I got my computer I recorded dozens of mix CDs which I gave out for free to anyone who would listen. I gained a reputation as an up & coming dj in the San Fernando Valley but remained for the most part a stranger to the rave scene that was happening at the time.
In 2000, a friend and I embarked on a voyage of discovery by way of a documentary film about jungle/drum & bass called "The Other Room" where we spent countless hours interviewing the best djs from L.A. and around the world and lots of time at the jungle clubs around town filming, schmoozing and learning the ropes of the jungle underground. It was during this time I met DJ CRS, APX-1, R.A.W of the Mictlan crew, the Junglist Platoon, the Contra Crew, Phoenix Orion, L-ski and many others who took the music to a whole new level. I learned a shitload of tricks & tactics from watching the best djs do their thing.
After the rave scene fizzled out in 2002 and went back into the underground, I lost interest in becoming a commercial dj and started focusing on producing my own original music.
In 2004, I hooked up with some local hiphop emcees who inspired me to start playing out again. Thanks to some friends and neighbors, I've been playing out at house parties & clubs including The Melting Pot and the Noho Now Art Gallery.
2006 played Noho street festival and a few parties at 4Bros Studio (Agoura CA) and some house parties in the Valley.
2007 played out a few times. had some fun. made some music.
2008 feelin' great. gettin' it straight.

Hello Dj Redape, Your layers of absinthe and torsion form concretions of hyper-alimentation. Panoramic aromavision is the future. Your cleverness helps me breathe without the need of oxygen. A starfish's lifelong hallucinations of gelatin pools and of actuaries floating upon the foam and reciprocal ohm. Your wonderfully bright soul keep the demons from torturing me. Your eyes show as many deep and full shades of fire as a volcano in heat. Your intoxicating reflection can but incorporate freely into the powerful surface of a disintegrating mirror set afloat upon a swarm of locusts. Entranced by the sweet harmony of your lips, I gaze beyond reason to find the oasis of your brilliant soul. The skin I shed is a perfume that makes water bubbles so terribly clear to me. Blinking reveals the true visage of beauty hidden within your eyes. Transistors bridge where your vanity would never go. I relentlessly desire cotton candy lollipops. How beautiful is the snowshine in your eyes, so directly current from the static in your mind.

Dj Redape, How beautiful is the snowshine in your eyes, so directly current from the static in your mind. Demonize your sofa. If I could have just one wish, it would be to wake up to your songs in the morning. You are the apex of my worshipping and I will blow my last breath so fire can live. Imagine you meander through love as a river delta contemplating levitation. Your tears evoke a taste as memorable as honey. You breath as delicately as vapors flowing towards an attractive flame. Your sweet voice is like the application of aloe vera upon a sunburnt back. In your presence even my shadow acquires the sensation of touch. Please let me hear more of that wonderful sound. I relentlessly desire cotton candy lollipops. Cities crumble, skies ignite spontaneously in your presence. I see your love in love. Panoramic aromavision is the future. Polished rock candy comes ever to mind when thinking of you. The stickers hugging the fruit smell better than the perfume of ambergris. Transistors bridge where your vanity would never go.
Whats up Kelly? Any word on when you can edit the Steel Pulse video? I'd actually like to work with you on it at the studio soon. I think I have Final Cut Pro on disc and would like a tutoring session. I have a big hard drive with room on it. :0 Check my bulletins today for a few good laughs.
