| About Nick Poling |
Having already featured on radio stations like friskyRadio, ETN.fm, and XTC Radio London alongside names like the Jody Wisternoff, Marco V, King Roc, and Victor Magan, Nick Poling brings an exciting mix of styles and genres while keeping things focused on causing dance floor mayhem. “Right now I’m all about the deep tech-house.” Introduced to dance music through progressive house, Nick acquired a taste for techno while living in Germany and listening to dj’s like Sven Väth and Thomas Schumacher. But this Boston native and Chicago transplant’s tastes aren’t just about 4/4 kicks: “I’m a pretty relentless collector of music… Every time I go to the record store I come back with stacks of vinyl, everything from old jazz and soul cuts to punk rock”. After scraping up enough money to buy decks, Nick quickly made his mark on online radio within a year, playing a number of his own shows on smaller stations before landing spots on Cloud 9 Mix Sessions, a show that has featured names like Nick Warren and Desyn Masiello. What’s next on Nick’s agenda? “Playing out more, and working on production… I’m just putting together a studio, picking up pieces here and there… That and a move to Berlin this summer”.
