Honolulu based dj mr.nick, is on if the more off the beaten track types of selectors that grace the Honolulu night club scene. Specializing in laying down mixes of jazzy, style bending, Downtempo, House, Breaks, and Drum and Bass, that pull from the far corners of the world. The music can range from a sexy jazzy sax solo, to a gently swaying samba, to a spinning sitar driven house number. Ether way the idea is that through sound, we are all interconnected, through communication, honesty, and harmony we can flatten the world. You will quicker find him playing before a crowd of martini swirling hipsters, debating the current topics of the day, than a room stuffed full of mindless, meat market drones, just looking for an easy hookup. After a two year stay at downtown hotspot thirtyninehotel, he has taken up a new Friday residence at NEXTDOOR Nightclub, doing dual duty spinning on the main dance floor, and later doing a second set in the very posh upstairs lounge. dj mr.nick also is currently holding down a weekly radio timeslot on KTUH 90.3 on Wednesday Mornings called "The JET SET" as well as having monthly dj slots at re:VERSES poetry collective, and The Showdown in Chinatown Film Competition, as well as a rotating slot at CASA @ The LOFT, and as had the honor of opening for such legends like Ursula 1000, Fort Knox Five, Doc Martin, dj IRA, Harvey and the Greenskeepers to name a few.
