We are honored to announce the conception and inaugural release of Street Ritual Recordings. KnowSleep, a collaboration of Bay Area producers Knowa KnowOne and Sleepyhead featuring the sacred spoken words of Goddess Alchemy Project's Taylor Maiden Space and the ever-conscious flow of Seasunz, from the group Wisdom, most recently featured on Bassnectar's "Underground Communication".
Listen:
KnowSleep is HipHop, Breakbeat, Dubstep, Pychedelic and Reggae all fused together into something we can only call whomp. Ethnic and indigenous rhythms are blended and syncopated to finely tuned breaks, beats and bass. The star around which everything revolves is the production, which is thick in bass tones, complex yet transparent drum programming, and beautiful melodies. KnowSleep is a head-nodding hiphop lover's icy journey, but the destination is viscous, even unimportant. It is also a keen reflection of America's current state, a stoic call to action and a vision of your nearest future, conceived with the purest of intent. KnowSleep is on a spiritual journey, and you would be wise to join them.
You can purchase KnowSleep and immediately download the full album in 320k mp3 format. We will also mail you a limited edition, full resolution compact disc, mastered by Bil Bless. (aka SOTEG) while supplies last.
Street Ritual represents the choice of a sacred path, navigating a narrow road littered with urban debris. The avenues we choose to take are rich with intent, spirit and joyful activism. Street Ritual is a conduit for sounds, media, images and ideas that interact with one's perception, inspire and enlighten. The ritual connects us to our tribal roots, as we dance around the fire of old ways, burning what now does not serve us. Through this ritual we birth a new, global consciousness. You have reached a point on this path, the dance is your own destiny.
In addition, you can also purchase from iTunes, Beatport, Addictech, Zune, Rhapsody and nearly 100 other online retailers.
Sum Knew, sum didn't. New forms and new breaks, with full on polyrhythmic beats and heavy ass bass. Tribal, funky, uptempo Dubstep/2-step, latin influenced beats, Hip-Hop and Reggae in the mix. This is a digital siren call, to all the light workers, tone warriors, and ancient mystics.
JFJO's last trip to the West Coast in 2008 includes a stop in Berkeley TONIGHT at the Starry Plough! Be sure to bring an extra article of clothing, as our friends from PMP will be out screen printing! See you there!
