Dj Ciro's Blurbs |
About me:
In The Beginning
I Started djing @ the early age of 14. My mobile dj's company's name was Cerrone's Disco whom at the time was one of my favorite disco artist ( many of my close friends always told me we looked alike), Years later I became vice – president of Cerrones United States fan club.
Early success in the business landed me several Teen Disco gigs, amongst them JC's Teen disco in Hialeah, Midway and Tropical Skating Centers, and eventually opened up our own teen Disco "The Affair Teen Disco" atop of the old Miracle Theatre in Coral Gables which was operated during the summer months. This led to my first professional gigs @ Sebastian's and The Trip Nightclub in Miami. From these clubs I graduate to San Francisco In the Grove (Formerly Honey's For The Bears), after about six months there I was Discovered by then General Manager of the Poop Deck in ft. Lauderdale, and soon to be General Manager at a new club in Hialeah called Casanova's, Casanovas opened many doors for me including the opportunity to work with most of the biggest acts in the disco world, (check out my Casanova's blog for a list of artist and pics ). During my early years @ Casanovas I got involved in radio. I was the first disc jockey to do a live broadcast for a then Spanish Radio station called Super Q with the original Discoteca al Aire from Casanova's which became a staple of Miami Radio, and later on opened doors for many other local dj's. After Super Q Sunday a new dance station arrived in the market (Power 96 FM), I was hired as on of the original mixers alongside Phil Jones and a then very young Lazaro Mendez. And the famous Disco Lunch mix was created hosted by the later Kramer the midday Man. During this time I got involved with two of the original record pools in the area, first the S.E.D.A. record pool, and later on The Florida Record Pool. Going into the studio was next up for me, and had the pleasure to be involved in some of the greatest dance music to come out of our area. (Please check the discography blog for a list of songs I either consulted on, mixed, or co-produced)
