About me: We're a group of romance, mystery, science fiction/fantasy readers and authors in the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex. We "do" a monthly tea at a tearoom around the metroplex, alternating east and west sides, as well as trips to Denton and Duncanville, plus our fabulous Holiday Tea. If you read and love to discuss your books and authors, this is a great group with lively on-line discussion as well as the opportunity to meet in person.
We also meet on the third Wednesday of each month for a book club. We meet in North Plano (Frisco area) or Irving (Las Colinas area) in a home and have an invited author phone in.

Since time immortal, humans have found various ways to communicate. With the advent of writing, civilization as a whole has grown and expanded in knowledge. If it were not for the written word, we would know so little of the various cultures before us, and it is imperative that we too, leave our ‘footprint in the sand’ of history today, enabling future generations to know and understand us.

THE songs of the Beatles have always enjoyed a global appeal. Now one of their best-loved recordings is to be beamed into the galaxy in an attempt to introduce the Fab Four's music to alien ears. NASA will broadcast the song, Across the Universe, through the transmitters of its deep space communications network tomorrow (February 4, 2008) — the 40th anniversary of its recording at London's Abbey Road studios. The music will be converted into digital data and sent on a 431 light year-journey towards Polaris, the North Star, to also commemorate the space agency's 50th anniversary. The broadcast will begin its journey to Polaris, the North Star, at 7 p.m. EST/Monday Evening.
