THIS IS THE VIDEO OF "CONSUME WITH INCISOR" BY DESTRUCT-A-THON

In 2006, Destruct-a-thon reunited after a 2-year hiatus for the release of their full length, 14 song disc Es Muerto (2001-2004), which was part of the Workaholica Box Set. What started off as just being some old friends getting together to play 3 or 4 shows to promote the newly released material, quickly became a full fledged assault on the East Coast underground music scene. Performing around their usual New England haunts, the band also made a few trips back to New York City and secured a new cult following in our nation’s capital of Washington, D.C.

Audiences were left either in absolute fear or crazed enthusiasm at the bands on-stage performances. Michele Morgan’s furious guitar riffs and sultry vocals, Eric O’Brien’s hybrid drumming of total groove and fast paced insanity, Sean Linehan’s low end attack on the bass, and Duncan Wilder Johnson’s “mental patient on crack” stage presence left audience members slack-jawed.

Destruct-a-thon’s Aloha Jihad EP is 2 new songs, 1 cover, and 2 bonus tracks.

It was tracked and mixed at New Alliance in Cambridge, MA with His Majesty Ethan Dussault (God.Fires.Man., The Lot Six, Smoke or Fire, Everybody Out!) and mastered by Nick Zampiello (Dropkick Murphy's, Torche, Campaign For Real Time, Against Me, Cave In, Converge) at New Alliance East.

The two new originals on the record, Aloha Jihad and Consume With Incisor, hearken back to their Hardcore Punk roots while their last record, Es Muerto, spoke a lot from their Thrash and Stoner Rock background.

The song Aloha Jihad is a blistering 2 minutes and 33 second tirade against the Bush Administration. Consume With Incisor is another fast as hell, in your face song about love gone wrong using the metaphor that all great metal songs are based upon: Satan.

Heart Attack is a cover song originally by Long Island based post hardcore band Bravado. Bravado called it quits in 2003 and Destruct-a-thon played a bunch of shows in New York and Boston with them.

In the summer of 2007, D-thon played in Brooklyn, NY with two new bands, which were spawned in Bravado’s wake. For their finale, Destruct-a-thon launched into Heart Attack. This came as a surprise to the ex-Bravado guys and the place went off with the people jumping on stage and doing the back-up vocals! That sealed the deal for Destruct-a-thon to record their version of Heart Attack.

Destruct-a-thon began in the summer of 2000, making a racket in mildew soaked basement in Allston, MA. They played their first show on July 14, 2001. As time went on, they migrated from practice space to practice space, had a variety of line-up changes, and played anywhere that they could. They even had the distinction of opening up for some classic bands including The Bronx, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Seemless, Tree, and the late great Cracktorch.

As they close in on their 100th show, the band only has one thing to say: “Say goodbye to your hearing”
