About Deleted Scenes (Oct 20, Bmore, w/Life and Times)
Deleted Scenes is a four-piece indie rock band living in DC and Brooklyn, NY. We met as kids growing up in Olney, MD and Gaithersburg, MD and have been playing together under various guises ever since. The songwriting is a collaboration between Dan (guitar/vocals) and Fatty (bass/anything-he-can-pick-up). In 2005 we recorded a four-song EP with Billy Gordon in Baltimore which featured songs Dan wrote at the end of college, and which Fatty helped hone and arrange with vibraphone, trumpet, organ, and piano. Throughout the year that stretched across 2007 and 2008, we toured the country, and recorded a full-length record with J. Robbins (Burning Airlines) and L. Skell (the Rude Staircase). The resulting album is a diverse, propulsive, and deeply personal set of songs called Birdseed Shirt. It is named after a passage in Jonathan Safran-Foer's novel, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close. We are still finalizing plans for release and distribution.

it was lovely seeing you gentlemen. its a shame most of you ate food and missed the brawl infront of pharmacy. it was pretty surreal but that could have been the rye...

Good work on these new songs..They are amazing. We would love to make your next tour through this area well worth it by booking several in the Durham,Chapel Hill,Greensboro, Winston-Salem area with you.
By the way it sounds good, though I'm listening on my 8 year old son's crappy speakers (he's claimed the hi=fi computer for the day), though I suppose that's the acid test. And it sounds LOUD!
sort of nonexistent or at a standstill...well...i have been working for another company and it is pretty hard to be creative under someone elses wing, but it is always imperative to take a step back from yourself and take in as much as you can from other influences...needed to take a break from what i had going and figure stuff out...i feel like everyone who moves to the city does so to figure shit out, and i still haven't figured shit out...but the year of school that i am starting right now is basically all fine arts, like figural drawing and building experimental shit. which is really great too. though i would personally prefer the porn industry.
pffft. well "cushy" sounds kind of delightful, like you are working in a desk in a bed under a comforter, which pretty much sounds like the best job ever and i am a little jealous. there are a lot of shitty people in fashion, but then there are a lot of fucking sweet people...like me, and the people i work for...but mainly especially me...aside from that, the judgmental ones are undeserving and suck, but if you hang around enough you find the right people and they are just creative and conceptual and purely amazing. they exist - pinky swear
hahaha!! yea man... i'm pumped... being one of my favorite bands and all. gonna rule. Hanging out will ensue for sure. You guys should try and get on! -Jimmy
