Cries and whispers. Bones and ballads. Secrets and lies.
DeatHat is a torchrock duo from San Jose. DeatHat was forged by Kate Saturday and Erik Ostrom on the anvil of folk rock from equal parts traditional celtic music, smoky jazz á la Nina Simone, and the experimental and found percussion of Einsturzende Neubauten or Xiu Xiu. The resulting contraption is as comfortable on tuning forks as it is on marimba. It sings from two mouths, it dances with four hands, and its like has never before been seen upon this green earth.
DeatHat's debut album, Eponymy, can be purchased either through CDBaby or by contacting Saturday in person.
