About me:
The Brian MacKenzie Infoshop is a radical space in Washington, D.C. The Infoshop is both a radical book and record shop, as well as a resource center. We are organized around anarchist principles and are volunteer and cooperatively run.

In addition to our modest selection of radical books, and politically charged independent punk, hip-hop, folk, spoken word and audio cd's & records we maintain a small video lending library of documentary and political films; provide free computer and internet access; make available meeting and event space for radical groups and projects; sponsor a variety of political and cultural events such as hosting speakers and authors, film-screenings, artists and various performers; as well as provide a gathering space and haven for radical activists to meet and connect with other activists, independent thinkers, and organizing projects.

NEW HOURS - JUNE 08

* Wednesday thru Friday - 2PM - 9PM
* Saturday & Sunday - 1PM - 6PM
[Closed on Monday and Tuesday]

Crazymans Economics (Taking on Wall Street!)

Jun 28 2008 10:26 AM

BMI,

Thanks for the add, but this is only the beginning.

Please let your customers and friends know about the book Wall Street doesn't want you to read. "Crazyman's Economics" exposes the fraud of the the stock market and commodities market and shows why they're the two greatest con games in US history!

With your help, we can expose the truth about who we refer to as the "Masters of Illusion and Deception, who separate the masses from their money without accountability or prosecution!"

Crazyman's Economics will prove that up to 90 MILLION Americans lose money in the stock market, while finding out the REAL reason you are paying $4.00 or more at the gas pump. It's not supply and demand, or OPEC, it's due to the OIL SPECULATORS IN THE COMMODITIES MARKET, and they are making fortunes at YOUR expense!

"Crazyman's Economics" exposes the myth that the markets are key to a strong economy and in fact, work against the average investor and consumer.

"Crazyman's Economics" is a self-funded project and available on
www. amazon. com or
www. crazymanseconomics. com.

With your support, our book is the beginning of a grassroots campaign to pressure Congress to enact REAL reforms to protect the retirement and 401k's of average Americans!

Join our mission, our financial future depends on it!

Thanks,
T.E.

Feb 17 2008 9:41 PM

I mean SUNDAY! (arg! I am so bad about getting dates and numbers mixed up)(I could tell you a funny story about that, but its not that funny) (well, its a little funny, I told my daughter the wrong date I was getting back from NOLA Bookfair- a day before I really was to come back. She is always so busy, I didn't think she would even notice I was gone. But I came home to her being worried, and emailing all my friend. I promised next time I left somewhere I would leave travel info and contact phone numbers. It just makes sense, to do that. But I guess its funny, cuz the shoe is on the other foot. usually moms worry about kids, but we had gotten old enough to switch positions.)
anyway, thats a dumb story but I am tired and its one a.m. .....so -
SEE ya soon!

Journalists for Mumia Abu-Jamal

Nov 14 2007 6:05 PM

Greetings,

Thanks for adding us. Your support is much appreciated.

What do you think of these newly discovered crime scene photos (viewed at Abu-Jamal-News.com)?

I have been personally contacting every mainstream media person I could find and still the only place that has published the actual photo is the national Black newspaper, The SF Bay View.

This just the latest episode in a long history of corporate media bias (and arguably racism) towards Mumia and other political prisoners.

In Solidarity,
Hans

PORT HURON PROJECT

Jul 10 2007 1:55 PM

Port Huron Project 2: The Problem Is Civil Obedience

A public reenactment of a speech originally given by author and activist Howard Zinn at a peace rally in May 1971. In this stirring speech, Zinn argued for the necessity of civil disobedience to protest the war in Vietnam and called on Congress to impeach the president and vice president of the United States for the “high crime” of waging war on the people of Southeast Asia.

When: Saturday, July 14, 5 PM (rain date July 15)

Where: Northwest corner of the Boston Common, near the intersection of Charles and Beacon streets. Note: this is the exact site of Zinn’s original speech!

This is the second event in the Port Huron Project, a series of remakes of protest speeches from New Left movements of 1960s and '70s. The project is named after the Port Huron Statement, the visionary manifesto of the Students for a Democratic Society (SDS), a radical student group formed in 1962. The first event in the series, Port Huron Project 1: Until the Last Gun Is Silent, took place on Sept. 16, 2006, and was based on a speech given by Coretta Scott King at a peace march in Central Park in 1968. The third event will be a reenactment of a speech originally given by SDS President Paul Potter at the March on Washington in April 1965.
