Winter heartbreak, springtime love, summer rain, autumn sunsets... Listen for yourself and leave me comments.
Here we have, for your listening pleasure, four new songs for the myspace world:
* "Dream" is brand new. Complete with a squeaky sustain pedal on the piano.
* "Take Me Away" was only played live once. (Think C,S,N,Y meets Sun Kil Moon) It's basically about how even a thing like baseball can break your heart sometimes...
* "August Breeze" is an old favorite of mine, written in August of 2001, and parts of it have been re-recorded recently. Perfect for those long Autumn sunsets...
* Finally, "Morning Star" is a lost recording. I found it on a tape with no label, no indication, no history. I was surprised to know that I actually had recorded this song. One take, one track, two mics...it was written for an ungrateful muse many moons ago...
*And since myspace has allowed me to now have SIX songs, I am pleased to bring back a couple of old favorites of mine: Broken Lullaby and Hey There, Stars.
Enjoy and thank you for listening. Let me know what you think!
Yay. I love your new song, it is so pretty. I want to hear you play it at my house. I can't believe you forgot about that one song, it is so pretty and sweet. I love all of them a lot. See you tomorrow, honey.
Yes, I am still working overnights but I also fill in for people on vacation. I don't mind. As long as I am in a radio station I am very happy. Thankfully, I get a lot of rest during the week so I am awake enough to drive home after work.
Where are you moving to? Hopefully somewhere closer to Barstow.
yeah, I definately want to make it to one of your shows coming up. I'm not sure whats going on with Cero's but maybe we can throw something together in the next couple months.
A lot of your songs sound very Neil Young-ish. And that's a compliment, because as we all know, Mr. Young is the greatest of all the Canadian singer-songwriters!
Ok, so my message wont let me reply. So funny story. I just played my first solo show last week. I've been writing a lot and kinda gon in a very wilco summer teeth direction. I'm probably going to start working an a demo with a friend who is in nashville this week working with his other friends. Ummm... I actually started teaching 5th Grade this week in Buena Park so my next month or so is pretty tight as far as free time. But first chance I get we should jam, or at least play at the same place... Anyways sorry to hear about the woman trouble. I actually get married on April 7th next year. Pretty crazy. I'll talk to you soon though... For real this time.
yeah for sure, I'm actually gonna post the song we did at FJC tonight. I mean it's super rough and way more honky than it was written but what do you expect when your winging it with three guys who have never heard the song before the session... anyways yeah I'll again try to be there on wed. I mean really how busy can I be right? ok I'll send ya a link to the song when its up...
