Chicago Singer/Songwriter, Dave Tamkin, has created his own unique style of rhythmic-acoustic rock that's based around a fresh musical vision. His shows vary from intimate solo acoustic performances to a full band experience encapsulating a mixture of personal lyrics and skilled songwriting set against a high-energy percussive backbone.
While touring relentlessly all over the nation, Dave plays over 232 shows a year. He's shared the stage with Guster, Rusted Root, Michael Galbicki, Butch Walker, Matt Wertz, Stroke 9, The Violent Femmes, Fountains of Wayne, Vertical Horizon, Will Hoge, Stephen Kellog and The Sixers, Willy Porter, Freddy Jones Band, Brian Vanderark, Rhett Miller of the Old 97s, and Carbon Leaf to name a few.
Tamkin has a style that's hard to resist. His lyrics are unabashedly honest and his passion for playing is undying. He is currently touring nationally solo and plays the mid west with his band. Dave Tamkin and Co. create a distinct sound. Their equal parts create a sonic percussive assault mixed with a vivid, melodic instrumental bed, shaken with a twist of passionate vocal lines. And they'll make you shake your ass.
Hi, it's been awhile since I checked in. Hope you're doing well in all this craziness we call our world. Still trying to sell my real-estate in Texas so I can get back to Virginia where my bandmates and recording studio are. I've got an album to record and no way to get there. If you like our music and would like to hear more, please say a prayer for me to sell my property in this crashing economy. I need a miracle right now. Here's my comments on politics and the direction of humanity in general. Hope you enjoy. Feel free to pass it on. ~Dan www. reverbnation. com/tunepak/818011
Dave! How have you been? Busy, I am sure. Are you moving out of state? moving for good? If so, I'd like to see you before then, take some photos perhaps.. _P.
Dave, I'm so happy for you and glad to see that where your talent has lead you. I wish life was not so hectic and I could make it to more shows like back in the good old days, but I still own more of your CD's then any other band. Wishing you the best....always!
