Award winning producer and musician Dave Fields has music not just in his blood, but also in his genes. Fascinated with music from the very beginning, he studied piano at an early age and began learning musical composition, arranging and production on his father's knee. His father is Sammy Fields, a well known composer-arranger-producer of great American standards as well a collaborator with the great Hollywood, Broadway and standards writer, Sammy Cahn. Dave discovered his love for the guitar at the age of thirteen and was soon playing on sessions with his father, and writing his first score for a big band at age 16.When Dave graduated from high school, he chose to attend the Berklee School of Music in Boston where he studied performance and composition and arranging.After college, Dave soon found a career back in New York as a budding composer, arranger and producer working for independent record labels. Dave also played on records as a "first-call" guitarist-multi-instrumentalist with likes of GRP productions and Ahmet Ertegen.Dave Fields was the band/writer director for the world renowned New Voices of Freedom performing with U2 in the movie "RATTLE AND HUM". He has also worked with other musical legends including Aretha Franklin, Lenny Kravitz, Sean Lennon, The Drifters, Tommy James, Hubert Sumlin,Ruby Dee , Ossie Davis, Willie "Big Eyes" Smith and Billy Gibson.To his credit Dave has extensive TV, radio, broadway and film musical credits including the movie "SECRETARY" with Angelo Badalamenti, Comedy Central, The Learning Channel, Fun Factory (a nationally syndicated radio show) , the cast album of the Broadway hit "Bright Lights, Big City",2004 Olympics, The TODAY Show and NBC Sports.Dave Fields is a former staff member of "Look Music" where he produced and wrote many national TV and Radio commercials. He also has been a significant contributor to a variety of stock music libraries including "Aircraft Music Library".In 1996 Dave founded" Fields Music". The company has focused on TV, film, interactive and industrial needs with music. He producing credits include gioia Bruno of Expose. In addition, Dave has been busy with recording producing the Fields Music Library with his own extensive and constantly expanding library of "original" stock music.Dave Fields along with Roxy Perry produced, recorded and co-wrote "BACK IN BLUESVILLE". The CD won Best Self Produced CD from the IBC in Memphis for 2006.Dave Fields is also a contributing writer for the national magazine "Big City Rhythm and Blues". One can say that Dave Fields is a very busy, accomplished musician.In 2007 Dave Fields released his first album "Time's A Wastin'." His effort earned him the JSJBF ( Jersey Shore Jazz, Blues Foundation) award for Best Self Produced Cd. Boston Blues Magazine wrote about his Cd...".great vocals,emotion, and sex appeal." This summer 2008 you can hear Dave Fields from Itlay to Russia and back to the US.
