The origin of my name Daryn: I was named by Tyrone Power, the dynamic
heart throb matinee idol of his day. He named me Daryn after his daughter Taryn.
Tyrone was a neighbor in Bel Air and a good friend of my father's who was also
an actor. I love this family and I feel a part of it!

Paul Henried's dance cotillion for 10 years. It was run by Paul's wife and Daryn's mother Marilynn Hinton introduced most of the celebrity's children to the class. In
Hillary Carlip's book 'Queen of the oddballs' she writes about her Trophy Ball experience at this cotillion "...my
class was largely made up of children of celebrities.....On the night of the Grand Trophy Ball, it was quite fascinating to see who kept winning the contests -- the children of Charleton Heston, Vincent Price, Michael Landon, and Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh (yeah, Jamie Lee Curtis)". My mother Marilynn Hinton with my brother Darby Hinton at a theme party she threw for him at Jack Ryan's (invented Barbie etc) magnificent Bel Air home, when he was a child star playing Daniel Boone's son on the popular Daniel Boone TV series. Marilynn Hinton was one of the most uniquely memorable, amazing people who ever lived. She was very powerful, yet warm & tender, with a special gift of life changing encouragement to those she loved. She has been likened to the beloved Auntie Mame character. Film legend Jane Russell wrote of her in her book as the woman who knew everyone who was famous, powerful and she could make anything happen. She did things like they had never
been done and had a flair for life that was inspiring to all who knew her!
Bobo Rockefeller, Daryn's Godmother, passed away June 19th
2008. Her life, spirit and legacy live on through her amazing grandchildren who
will be incredible movers and shakers in this new generation and will write its
history. Bobo joins her wonderful son, Win Rockefeller (Daryn's brother's [Darby
Hinton] Godfather), the former Lieutenant Governor of Arkansas and her
ex-husband, Winthrop Rockefeller, the former Governor of Arkansas, in heaven.
They will be among the mighty cloud of witnesses that watch and cheer on their
family as they run the race (Hebrews 12:1). We LOVE YOU BOBO!

As a b-day request I am taking donations for a lifetime supply of WD40 or any such oil products to help with the "old timers" that my children have decided I suffer from, with all the creaks and groans that seem to follow my physical movements of any sort...
