To help the music press and record industry execs, the D'ARCY sound can be neatly pigeon-holed into the 'Acoustic guitar-based indie-pop-rock with a funky edge underpinned by a blues/soul groove' genre.
D'ARCY are one of the very few unsigned bands to have had airplay on national radio. In 2007, a promotional copy of the band's EP found its way to DJ Janice Long who started playing one of the tracks, Unconditional, on her show. Generating massive interest from listeners, Janice personally invited the band to play a live session on her show.
Since then D'ARCY have supported ex-Sugababe Mutya Buena at the BT Digital Music Awards, and were selected to perform at the City Showcase in London. They have also played live sessions for Nikki Bedi and Adil Ray on the BBC Asian Network, and played live on Sky TV. The band are also set to appear on BBC2's Desi DNA.
In 2006, the band completed a tour of Canada, were nominated for Best Newcomer and Best Unsigned Act in the Asian Music Awards, and featured in Asiana magazine's 'Ones To Watch'. A cover version of Ash's 'Girl From Mars' recorded for Xfm found its way to actor James Nesbitt who personally phoned the band to say that he thought the cover was "f*cking brilliant!
In 2005, after a demo was picked up by Stephen Budd Management, D'ARCY recorded their debut single 'Oxygen' with Rainmaker (producers who have worked with Ash, Elton John and the Sugababes.) The band released the single on their own label, Cheam Records.
D'ARCY have played at London venues including The Borderline, The Metro Club, The Marquee, The Water Rats, The Bedford, The Troubadour and 12 Bar Club, as well as festivals including GUILFEST.
D'ARCY are currently in the studio working on their debut album.

Thanks for dropping by and becoming my virtual buddy. Maybe we can sip virtual tea and talk about the virtual issues of the day? Hope you liked my songs - they're the only non-virtual things about me. Your single is pretty darn cool!
really, really great songs guys! thanks so much for sharing them with me and for visiting my page. glad to 'meet' you so take care and stop by anytime!

Also, I've got a full-band show at the Hotel Cafe in Hollywood on April 22. I'd love to see you there, if it's at all feasible for you -- and if it's not, I'd totally appreciate you telling a friend in the area. :D
