Damnation's Hammer was formed as a homage to the avant-garde metal of the 1980's.
The vision of the band has always been to create dark, doom laden metal incorporating surreal atmospherics.

2018 saw the band sign to Massacre Records for an official release of their sophomore album Unseen Planets, Deadly Spheres which was originally self-release in November 2017. Ten tracks of unrelenting heaviness with a pervading tone of the unearthly.

"The territory may be familiar but they present it with genuine individuality. This is a relentless and punishing sophomore album. You don’t get out of here skull intact. They can switch tempos in a moment, mid-paced crush to sudden blast beat rip, but this technical precision comes without sterility.

This is such an impressive second album.” 9/10

"Unseen Planets, Deadly Spheres by Damnation’s Hammer is riff after riff after motherfucking riff!. The power they create is breathtaking!"5/5

Dennis Jarman – review for Planet Mosh.com

“It’s really difficult to put Damnation's Hammer into a certain category as comparisons to other bands are almost impossible. Damnation's Hammer mix everything from a lot of different ingredients into a stand-alone concoction that really sticks out from the crowd. Mercilessly... cool!” 9/10

Daniel Muller review for Crossfire Metal.de

The album features a guest appearance from Nik Stalvind from the Swedish metal band Wolf who contributed backing vocals on the track Haunting the Abyss.

The band performed a series of successful live appearances in the run up to the album’s release including the support to Sacred Reich on their UK dates.

“The sound was mesmerizing, reminiscent of watching Black Sabbath for me.”

“These sounds were like the soundtrack to a nightmarish descent into Hell, as exemplified in the performance of the song “Temple of the Descending Gods”. Damnation’s Hammer brought a different style to the overall gig and it went down well with the Glaswegian crowd. Yet another example of a fine upcoming band from the UK extreme metal underground that’s destined to make waves.”

Sean Merrigan – The Moshville Times’s review from The Cathouse, Glasgow.

“To say their set went down well is an understatement, particularly amongst fellow musiciansI discovered.”

“You are not a beautiful band, you are not romantic, you are morbid and completely disturbed – however it is clear great art is in this album.” 9/10

MetalDistrict.de review.

“Vile, heavy, singular and mostly a beautiful beast of darkness and more darkness, Disciples of the Hex is a unique entity of force and esoterica, a herald of a new age of darkness. Be it doom or thrash or both at the same time or none of the above –this album should be heard and acknowledged.” 8/10

MaelstromZine review.

“It’s essentially a doom metal album with a heavy Celtic Frost indebted crunch. There’s a certain heroic vibe in there. All in all this is heartfelt and engaging stuff.” 7/10
