Da Hood
The project started in 1993, when hip-hop scene in Romania was in the
early dayz. The first help came from the team of “Hip-Hop Radio Show”, a
hip-hop programme from Radio 22.
Dj Sleek was the one who give first instrumentals to Nai’gh’Ba.
The first concert happened in 1994 (april 14) under the name called
Wanted. It was the third hip-hop concert organized in Romania. After
this show, the name changed in Da Hood Justice, and the team completed
with Sub Zero aka Phane Buton.
A year later, Nai’gh’Ba joined Stoe Toxxic, a very tallented MC. The
first record called “This is our life” was launched in the same year on
a mixtape. After this song, Da Hood Justice signed first contract with a
major label – Cat Music/ Media Services (Sony Music licenced label in
Romania). The debut album came in 1997. “Judecata de dupa” (The
Judgement after) with first 2 hits: “Niquaganxta” and “Da Hood Squad” –
a song who had a video on the national tv station.
After two years, Da Hood Justice launched “The end of The Millenium” – a
maxi-single that was very appreciated by the critics. The sound was a
mix from samples and live guitars. At the end of the year, Da Hood
Justice released the second album called “Straight from the
Unda’ground”, a studio album with a big hit called “Only One”. In 2001,
camed the third album, with hits like “Supersonic” and “When I’ll be On
a Mic”. 2001 means the end of the contract with Cat Music. After that
the team joins independent challenge. But the results are not good
enough. In 2005, Da Hood Justice make the come back by signing a new
contract with another major label – Roton.
This means a new era, a short name – just Da Hood -, and a bigger
line-up, wich means a 100% live project. The new line-up is: Nai’gh’Ba
and Stoe Toxxic (MC’s), Gabi “Printzu’” (bass guitar), Marius “Zulu”
(electric guitar), Kani (drums) and Dj Sonia (turntables).
Under the name Da Hood, this formula records the album called “Secret
from my garden”, who mix the styles from hip-hop to drum’n’bass and
crossover and hardcore. The line-up is competed short after with
Cristina (keys and backingvocals) and Dj Zicu (who replace Dj Sonia).
It follows 3 videos: “At Vama Veche”, “Forever Free” and “Secret from my
garden”, and big open-air concerts like openning act from Bloodhound
Gang, FånFest – a big festival, and “Live@ B 52” – a festival where we
played as an open-act to Zdob & Zdub.
Right now, Da Hood is preparing a new video and a brand new album.

Spicuiri din acest numar: interviu cu Metalistul Putza, primele doua episoade din rubrica "Si eu sunt rocker ca si tine" - cu Sturionul (singurul rocker pescar din Romania care a vorbit cu presedintele George Bush) si cu Corbul (care ne explica de ce Behemoth sunt cam dusi cu pasarica), interviu cu Rotting Christ (singurul serios din numarul asta), rezultatele concursului Miss Balamuc 2007, reportajele "Asadar si prin urmare, grecii dau cantare mare - Inactive Messiah in Romania (episodul 5)", ce-au facut Obituary la Titus acasa, cum era sa fie arestat Paul Grigoriu (vocalul de la Rising Shadow) in Rusia, Premiile Oligofrenia (partea a treia), "Daca dragoste nu e, asta e!" (matrimoniale rockeresti), Rubrica de limbi straine (I): azi invatam ce e aia "pulika" in maghiara si "koi" in finlandeza, "Baiatul de la pagina 6" (unde Ionut din Ploiesti ne arata colectia lui de 1200 CDuri originale black metal), teste de inteligentza pentru rockeri (grila), "In contact cu pletosii", "Asta intrece orice masura!", culinare cu trupetzi straini!
Nr. 8 are 56 pagini, costa 4 lei (pentru pletosi), 5 lei (nepletosii), respectiv 10 lei (editzia roz bombon de colectzie, limitata la 69 de exemplare).

Rockerul Sturionul din Fetesti, singurul metalist pescar din Romania care s-a plimbat cu OZNul, cel care in octombrie va aduce "Metalica, Canibal Cors si Neituish" la Fetesti este primul invitat de onoare al serii!
Cele mai multe legende urbane se nasc după lăsarea serii. Cele mai multe poveşti sunt spuse înainte de culcare. Noi începem devreme. Marţi, 10 iunie, de la ora opt, puteţi asculta poveşti scrise şi citite de Philip O Ceallaigh şi Vlad Tausance la Museo.
Philip este un irlandez care are un apartament în Bucureşti. Lumea îl ştie de bun povestitor.
Vlad e din Tmişoara. Stă în chirie şi îşi câştigă experienţa din scris.

Respect fratzica! Pe cand ceva nou? album nou... buna treaba ati facut... mare fan Da Hood am fost prin liceu... albumul "Direct din unda'ground" mi-a placut cel mai mult. ca dovada si acum sta la loc de cinste - 1,5 metri in fatza mea - printre cd-urile mele... succes si sa VA auzim de bine :)
