About me:
I am a doctoral student working on the notion of the curiosity and folklore in early America. My dissertation examines exhibits of both humans and automata and the corresponding popular tales of wonder which circulated during the period. I am also a poster artist (please contact me if you would like custom hand printed posters) and painter who loves to combine my love for the unusual and odd with my artistic work.
I am fascinated by the unusual and anomalous. My proverbial paintings reflect my fervor for folklore and early American Amusements, by juxtaposing images with proverbial sayings than often span centuries. I am interested in re-examining the representation of human displays (often those with “disabilities”) from this era. My work is a synthesis of my academic interests and my artistic expression.
I'm always looking to exhibit my work, so if you are interested please drop me a line.
Who I'd like to meet: Artists, Creative people, galleries, people who want handprinted posters, lovers of the odd and curious, circus people, and passionate people who are not satisfied with living a mediocre life.
