EXACTLY. I think anyone can learn how to at least count in English and learn little things. Like they do to us in Spanish. "How are you?" "What's your name?" "I'm lost." "Help." Just small things that'd help them in the supermarket or on the streets, you know?
Years ago my boyfriend wanted to move down south to go to college, had to learn Spanish so he could get a job, though! I don't think he wants to do that too much anymore. He couldn't get used to Spanish. Took it two years and didn't learn SHIT. It's so screwed up. I think they should make it a requirement that if you want to live here you have to know a bit of English. I had two friends that moved here from Brazil and could speak english perfectly in 2 years.
I agree, there can be white "niggers". I don't think "nigger" is a word to describe a black person. At all. It's a word to describe a piece of shit. I've only ever called a few people "nigger" in my entire life, and the majority were white people. As for the Mexicans thing, I think that they should TRY learning English while they're here, or before they get here. Making it easier for them to get jobs and stop living off of the government because they simply can. I have a friend that lives in Mexico and learned English from watching American TV.
Then again, sweety, I can be kinda racist. Not because I think 'white is the better color' or anything; but because other races (blacks especially) really do follow into their stereotypes. Even the negative ones. Blacks and Mexicans are the ones that gring me the worse.
