Conformado inicialmente por Daniel G. Köppen y Gabriel Eguiluz, amigos desde la infancia quienes se reunían ocasionalmente para tocar guitarra sin la mayor finalidad que el gusto de hacerlo, pero no es sino hasta finales de 2004 que esos encuentros esporádicos dan su primer fruto “When I Try”; canción que cambia la visión de ambos convirtiendo esta actividad en un proyecto y crea un ambiente de compromiso con la música, además define el estilo que adoptarán y le da un sello particular a las composiciones posteriores. Ese mismo año, siguiendo el propósito de conformar un grupo sólido, se incorpora en el bajo Manlio Martínez, Lizbeth Mendizábal en la voz y finalmente tras medio año de su fundación Alejandro López en la batería, quedando así finalizada la primera alineación formal de la banda y encontrando en el concepto de CRÓNICO una analogía para su forma de trabajo.
Habiéndose acoplado y creado un repertorio propio comienzan la grabación de su primer demo el cual tuvo la única finalidad de difundir su música. A raíz de esto tienen presentaciones en el Zócalo de la Ciudad de México, El Tianguis Cultural del Chopo y participan en diversas actividades culturales como exposiciones de arte, concursos delegacionales, además de eventos privados dentro y fuera del Distrito Federal.
A principios de 2006 ingresa como bajista Edgar George, quien además de
integrarse como músico participa como creativo.
En 2007 CRÓNICO graba su primer álbum de larga duración titulado Delirium Room, producción netamente independiente.
Biography
Initially conformed by Daniel G. Köppen and Gabriel Eguiluz, friends since childhood, who occasionally gathered to play guitar with no other aim that the sake of it. It’s not until the end of 2004 that in those occasional meetings they obtain their first song, “When I try”. This song changes both vision turning this activity into a real project and creating a commitment environment with the music. They also define its style and set a particular mood for upcoming compositions. That same year, in the basis of forming a solid group, Manlio Martínez (bass guitarist) and Lizbeth Mendizábal (voice) incorporated to the band, and finally Alejandro López (drummer) after six months of the foundation of the band. At this time the first lining-up of the band got set and they found in the CRONICO concept an analogy for their way of working.
Once they got along and created a unique repertoire they started to record their first demo that had but the purpose of diffusing their music. Therefore they had presentations at the Zócalo de la Ciudad de México, El Tianguis Cultural del Chopo and they have participated in different cultural activities such as: art expositions, contests among districts and private events in and outside México City. Edgar George (bass guitarist) incorporated to the band at the beginning of 2006. In 2007 CRONICO records their first long play record called Delirium Room a 100% independent production.
