About me:
Craftwerk is a marketplace style event that takes a slight turn away from the traditional craft market by encouraging young and emerging creatives from the Auckland community to showcase and sell their work.
Originally conceived in Wellington, Craftwerk began in Auckland in August 2006 and has seen seven more take place since then. Predominantly set in the friendly environment of St Kevin’s Arcade on Karangahape Rd, Craftwerk is not only host to twenty craft stalls, but also to the selected local bands and musicians that supply entertainment to shoppers and vendors. Vendors sell a huge variety of innovative crafts, covering anything from Perspex brooches, baby accessories, zines and comics, hand-stitched toys, dildo covers, screen printed crockery, stationary, stickers and knitted accessories.

Finally, we bring you the news that you have all been SO eager to hear!!!...................... a date has been set for the next Auckland Craftwerk!!

Once again, Craftwerk has run away from home, and is having a tea break at Te Tuhi Center for the Arts in Pakuranga (13 Reeves Rd).
So this means: Craftwerk will be joined up with the last of Te Tuhi's summer markets, and will run from 10am - 4pm on SATURDAY 3rd MAY.
There will also be a FREE FREE FREE bus leaving outside Artspace (300 K'Rd) at 1:30, and returning at 4pm for all non-stall holders. This magical FREE FREE FREE bus will also have djs for your listening pleasure. YOU LUCKY LITTLE THINGS!

So.........Calling all makers of crafts!! This time we are looking for even more diversity in the range of craft items and vendors. It's time to expand the potential of Craftwerk even further than before!!
We are looking for craftsters/artists/zinesters/vendors with innovative, refreshing and alluring ideas to fill 25-30 full tables at our next Craftwerk. This is the perfect platform for current/aspiring creatives to showcase their work in a marketplace-style environment along with other local talent, to a receptive, encouraging audience. We are also hoping to stretch the range of crafts and handmade items, offering concepts and materials not yet explored in the traditional craft market or industry. Think outside of the arts and crafts square!
