It's Time for a New Voice for the 4th District!
At its core, this campaign is about getting our District’s voice back in the Congress. Voters have made clear to me they view the vital issues which face us – a struggling economy, a mortgage crisis, worries about healthcare and concerns about our role in the World – the same way I do. When I am elected I intend to:
vote to invest in middle class tax cuts – not tax cuts for the wealthy and big oil;
push for change in how we address trade with foreign nations and will focus my efforts to make foreign trade fair to ensure that it benefits those on Main St., and not just those on Wall St.;
work to implement legislation to increase energy production from alternative energy sources now with our District as a hub for this growth;
Our district Our has lost its voice in the Congress. Those without money or those who are not tied to special interests have had little support from their current Member of Congress. They feel they have lost their stake in our government. From voting against mortgage relief, voting against children’s health care, voting against allowing our government to negotiate prescription drug prices with pharmaceutical companies, or voting against our veterans when they come home from Iraq, our current Representative has made clear that he represents the special interests, not us.
When I am elected, I will never forget that the real stakeholders in our government are the people of this District, not the special interests. When it comes time to vote on legislation affecting mortgages, health care, taxes or the value we place on those most in need among us-our children, our elderly and our veterans- you can trust that I will vote for you- and for them. The special interests have already had their representative for the 4th District for the last 6 years. It is time that the people of this District had theirs!
