Body: This week as we pray we will be obeying one of the most difficult commands the Lord left us..We will be praying for and loving our enemies. But this week these will be personal prayers because we all see different people as our enemy. For some it is somebody in a foreign land. For others it could be a rival at work or school,or for far too many it may even be a spouse, sibling,or a family member. The important thing to remember is that before the Lord came and paid the price for our sin we all were the enemies of our Father in heaven, and this being something Jesus commanded us to do,this weeks prayer will be for our enemies.

Romans 5:10 For if, when we were Gods enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!

Luke 6:27 But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,
Luke 6:28 bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.

Luke 6:32If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Evensinners love those who love them.

Luke 6:33 And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do that.

1John 4:20 If anyone says,I love God, yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen.

1John 4:21 And he has given us this command: Whoever loves God must also love his brother.

Father we ask that you give us the ability to be Christ like and truly love our enemies. That we may show Your love and grace to those who see us not as You do ,but as an adversary. And that we may be a strong witness for your sake and lead our enemy to the peace and rest of Your one Son.I ask this in Jesus name,Amen.

This week as we approach one month until the start of the Olympics,we will be praying not just for revival but for a great spiritual awakening in China! As China prepares to host the worlds athletes and press,it's security agencies carry out secret sweeps of it's unregistered house churches.House church leaders and evangelist face prison and torture as the Chinese government attempts to quell any perception of the reality of the unapproved church before the whole world is watching in August. But in the face of this persecution the church is acting as a lamp on a stand.Participatating in earthquake relief, providing social services for orphans and the infirm in the rural provinces. And now in the some of the bigger cities many christians are daring to live boldly and openly by having public worship services.
And while we will never be able to get an accurate count,China is by all estimates is where the most church growth is taking place in the world today. So for these and many reasons this weeks prayer is for a spiritual awakening in China.

Proverbs 11:14 For lack of guidance a nation falls,
but many advisers make victory sure.

Proverbs 14:34 Righteousness exalts a nation,
but sin is a disgrace to any people.

Father we come seeking Your guidance and grace for the people of China. We pray that as Your children participate in Chinese society and do good works in Your name and for Your glory, that the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is reflected to those who come into contact with them. We pray that the lives that they live is a witness to Your glory. We ask this in Jesus name,Amen.

This weeks prayer is for the condemned. And this subject like so many we deal with has both a spiritual and a worldly context attached. There are about sixty countries in the world today that continue to administer the death penalty. Most of these countries are in Asia and the Middle East. The United States also administers capital punishment. The people who populate these death rows are the worldly comdemned. They have been convicted in their societies of a crime that has been deemed to deserve the ultimate payment in return. The spiritually condemned is anybody who either rejects the Savior or never gets the opportunity to meet him. They face an eternity without the company of God.But the amazing thing is that Jesus can rescue both the spiritually and worldly condemned from their fates.Because the truth is we were all spiritually condemned untill Jesus rescued us whether we were sitting in a cell or dying of old age at eighty years of age. This is why this weeks prayer is for the condemned.

John 3:17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

John 5:24"I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.

"

Mark 16:16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

Father we come before you recognizing how great our need is for a savior. How truly grateful we are for the sacrifice of your Son Jesus.
And we pray that His saving grace is made known to those who face both worldly and spiritual death. We ask this in Jesus name,Amen.

This weeks prayer is for those christians who find themselves living as refugees and facing repatriation to regimes that are curently persecuting christians. We will also be praying for christians who are being forced to seek a new life outside of their homeland.
Many of us are familiar with the situation with our North Korean brethren and what happens when they are found in China, however Egypt has started to repatriate Eritrean christians,Thailand has been repatriating Hmong christians back to Laos, and Cambodia has been repatriating Montagnard christians back to Viet Nam. We also have brothers and sisters who either already are or will become refugees from;Iraq,Sudan,China,NorthKorea,Syria,SaudiaArabia,Myanmar,Somalia,Kenya, and many others. These are who we will be praying for this week.

Psalm 91
1He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

[3]

2I will say[4] of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.

"

Father we come asking Your protection for these children of Yours.
That they are given the strength to face their tormentors and their circumstances as children of the King. We ask that they reflect Your love, grace and mercy to a lost and dying world.
And that they proclaim the Lordship of Your Son,the Savior of all mankind,Jesus Christ. We ask this in Jesus name,Amen.

This week we will recognize the reality of globalization and the fact that in a very short time the majority of the worlds bibles will be printed in China. We will be praying that the chinese printers that are exposed to the word of God are influenced and led to the Lord. And that they are led to take this salvation back with them to their homes, and their towns and villages. And finally we will pray that this will lead to a great spiritual awakening in China, and lead to greater religous freedom for all of the chinese people and those under their control.

Psalm 119:130 The unfolding of your words gives light;
it gives understanding to the simple.

Father we come before You asking that Your word stays with those who print it for the rest of the world. That it impresses itself upon them and becomes a part of them, that they take it with them where ever they go.That they share it with their family and their neighbors.
And that it leads to revival in this great land. We ask this in Jesus name,Amen.

Jeremiah 20:9 his word is in my heart like a fire,
a fire shut up in my bones.

I am weary of holding it in;
indeed, I cannot.

Body: Myspace Days of Prayer Prayer for June 10,2008

This weeks prayer is for the organizations that call our attention to the plight of the persecuted church. These groups stand as forward observers in todays struggle for religous freedom across the world.
They may work in secret to supply a missionary,or pastor,or the family of a martyr with supplies. Or they may operate completely in the open to call a government to account for it's treatment of their christian people.
These organizations aren't just bureaucracys made up of do-gooders either, they have been birthed from the very persecution they expose. So this week we are praying for:

The Voice of the Martyrs, founded by Pastor Richard Wurmbrand and his wife Sabina Wurmbrand.Pastor Wurmbrand spent over a decade in prison for the gospel. The current President of VOM Dr.Tom White was sentenced to 24 years in Cuban prison for distributing the gospel and being caught when his plane crash landed.

The Open Doors group with offices all over the world was founded by Brother Andrew who at eighty has been smuggling bibles into Muslim, and Communist countries for Decades.

Bob Fu President of China Aid Association Miraculously rescued from Hong Kong as Chinese authorities were looking for him.

There is International Christian Concern,Christian Solidarity Worldwide,Release International,Friends of the Martyred Church, and Christian Freedom International. All of these groups work to further the cause of our persecuted brethren and it's so common for them to ask for our prayers that we never think that they may need ours.

Father we thank you for the example set by these servents of Yours.
For the courage they exhibit for Your name and for the glory of Your Son Jesus Christ. We pray that we learn from them, and are inspired by the work that they do for You. We come to You in Jesus name,Amen.

Body: Myspace Days of Prayer Prayer for June 3,2008

This weeks prayer is for all of those who for any reason find themselves held captive or in prison.Whether contending for the faith,or as a common criminal. Those Jesus refered to as the captives will be who we pray for this week. Both the Old and New Testaments proclaim freedom for captives, and the releasing of prisoners from darkness. And the bible makes no distinction between righteous and unrighteuos prisoners.

Isaiah 61:1The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me,
because the LORD has anointed me
to preach good news to the poor.

He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,

Luke 4:18THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS UPON ME,
BECAUSE HE ANOINTED ME TO PREACH THE GOSPEL TO THE POOR.

HE HAS SENT ME TO PROCLAIM RELEASE TO THE CAPTIVES,
AND RECOVERY OF SIGHT TO THE BLIND,
TO SET FREE THOSE WHO ARE OPPRESSED,

And the writer of Hebrews encoureges us to pray for prisoners as if we ourselves are also prisoners.

Hebrews 13:3Remember those in prison as if you were their fellow prisoners, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering

Father we come before you asking that Your light shines on the darkness that these in captivity face.
That they realize the freedom that comes with being one of Your children, and that they can accept and feel the freedom afforded them through the blood that was shed for them by Your Son Jesus Christ. We ask this in Jesus name,Amen.

Body: This week we are praying for the growing number of Iranian christians, and that they are able to stand firm in the faith as they face persecution from their neighbors as well as their government.

Today in spite of what we would probably believe about Iran, there is a growing population of christians, and they are gathering in an ever growing network of house churches. The price to be paid by these Iranian christians is becoming increasingly severe and increasing public.Last November a married couple were publicly whipped for apostasy for being christians. And this month authorities have invaded homes and confiscated computers and literature of christian converts. The ruling Imams have also passed a law this past January that includes the death penalty as one of the punishments for apostasy. For these reasons this weeks prayer is for these Iranian christians.

2Cr 4:8 We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair;

2Cr 4:9 persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.

2Cr 4:10 We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.

2Cr 4:11 For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus sake, so that his life may be revealed in our mortal body.

2Cr 4:12 So then, death is at work in us, but life is at work in you.

Father we come before you seeking your mercy and strength for our brothers and sisters in the country of Iran. We ask that You comfort them and lift them up out of their troubles. And we ask that those who persecute Your children will see Your love through them and seek the peace and rest of salvation that is only brought in Jesus Holy Name. We ask this in Jesus name,Amen.

This weeks prayer is for missionaries, and bible smugglers. These servants of God perform immesurable duties for the kingdom of God for little to no recognition. And often facing danger and persecution for their efforts. The missionary can perform duties anywhere from their own neighborhood to exotic foreign lands. They may be helping an elderly neghbor repair their home,or they may be teaching a village or tribe in some far off land about Jesus. The important thing to remember about missionaries is that when they are working they are spreading the good news of the kingdom of God.

Matthew28:19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations
Bible smugglers, hopefully, are there to take over where missionaries sometimes have to leave off.Often after a missionary has led someone or even a small group to Christ, bibles and other resources are needed for the proper spiritual growth of these new christians. And just as often this happens in countries that outlaw christianity and the bible so bible smugglers can face as much danger as criminals like drug smugglers. So for these reasons this week we will lift up our brethren who risk it all to take the gospel to the far corners of the world.

Ephesians 6:16,17 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.17Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God Father we humbly come before you asking Your mighty protection for these Your most faithful of servants. We ask that you encourage them and build them up when they are discouraged. That You are their strength in the face of danger and persecution. And that in the end, that all they do will be for Your ultimate glory and lead to the acceptance of Your only Son as the savior of all mankind.

This we ask in Jesus name,Amen

Myspace days of Prayer Prayer for May 13,2008

This week we will be praying for the victims of the victims of the Chinese earthquake. We will also continue to remember those who are suffering in Myanmar and here in America from the recent tornados. While there is much concern over what the media is refering to as "extreme weather"the Lord Himself told us of these things to keep us from innecessary worry.Matthew 24:6-14.

6You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.7Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.8All these are the beginning of birth pains.9"Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me.10At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other,11and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people.12Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold,13but he who stands firm to the end will be saved.14And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

We need to be aware as we prepare to pray for those in China that China Aid Association is reporting that even during this massive crisis the local police have shut down a local both a local bible school and a house church.

Father we come before you seeking Your mercy and healing for those who have been caught up in this tragedy. We pray that as they are at this low point in their lives they come into contact with a child of Yours who is rendering aid and blessings.
And that they would be open to the gospel message. We pray that this tragic event will be turned into a great revival among the Chinese people, starting with these victims, and spreading all over the country.
We ask this in Jesus name,Amen.

This week we will have two subjects for our prayer.First we will be praying for India, and we will also include Myanmar in this weeks prayer.

First India;India is the worlds largest democracy, yet lately it has grown more and more repressive. There has been a growth in anti conversion laws aimed at christian evangelism. There has also been the spread of both radical islam and radical hindi sects. All of which has led to a severe rise in the persecution of Indias christian population, ranging from harrassment to murder.

We are also going to pray for Myanmar(Burma)which is suffering from the effects of a devestating cyclone, with last reports having over 22,000 dead, with the government openly seeking assistance from christian ngos.

Father we come before you seeking Your grace and mercy for your children in both India and Myanmar. We ask that You protect the defenseless and heal the broken. We pray that what ever doors are opened either through the suffering of persecuted christians in India,or by the ability of christians to render assistance in Myanmar, that You will be glorified and many will come to accept the salvation offered by Your Son Jesus. We pray this in Jesus name,Amen.

Myspace Days of Prayer Prayer for April 29,2008
Category: Religion and Philosophy

While this week we focus on the plight of our North Korean brothers and sisters, and their oppressers both North Korean and Chinese, and rightly so.Tonights prayer will I hope keep us from looking at the situation our North Korean bretheran face without a beam in our own eyes.Because while what our North Korean bretheran face, especially those who have crossed over into China,we need to be prayerfully mindful of how we act toward and treat foreigners and aliens among us as we pray for and criticize China. We can pray for both.

Here in America and in Europe, cries go out against foreigners and immigrants, claiming that they take our jobs and use our resourses. But this is not as the Father intended. In Exodus 22:21 we are instructed in how we ourselves are toact towards foreigners among us. So for this reason we will be praying for both the Chinese oppressors of our North Korean Bretheran and that we treat the foreigners among us in the way the father intended.Exo 22:21 You shall not be violent toward an alien. You shall not oppress him, for you were aliens in the land of Egypt.

Father we come before you asking not only mercy for our brothers and sisters in North Korea, but that we in the West who claim to be Your children can be seen as examples to the Chinese in their dealings with foreigners and refugees. That we who lay claim to the inheritance of those who were aliens in Egypt are worthy vessels of your grace and mercy, and that we are able to be a blessing to all of your children who are suffering everywhere. We ask this in Jesus name,Amen

MySpace days of Prayer Prayer for April 22,2008
Category: Religion and Philosophy

This weeks prayer is for the upcoming North Korea Freedom Week. This event starts this Saturday and ends on May,3.Many of us may not be aware that North Korea is listed as the most hostile country in the world to christianity.Being caught in worship or with a bible in North Korea leads to prison, and often to death.

Just as sadly, many christians here in the west feel no connection with these christian brothers and sisters. But God through His word has given us many examples and reasons for us to care, and to pray for,and to assist these bretheren.
1.Hebrews 13:3 Remember those in prison as if you were their fellow prisoners, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.
2.
1Corinthians 12:12
12The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ.
So for these and many reasons this weeks prayer is for North Korea freedom Week.

Father we come before You,asking that eyes are opened and that hearts are softened towards your children who suffer so greatly in Your name. We pray that Western and American christians are moved and mobilized to assist their bretheren. That they realize that they are truly part of the one body of Christ.
And we pray that once this week passes, the spirit of hope that prayer and support brings forth last long into the coming year. We ask these things in Jesus name.Amen.
