Check out what people are saying about TCP!:
"A brooding man in a black hat flies into a room where the partygoers are oversized hors d’oeuvres munching on tiny people. It’s a surreal masterpiece culminating in a non sequitur-heavy conversation between our leading man and a stoic barkeep. Amusing and marvelously weird. Dali and Magritte would have loved it." - Robert W. Butler, The Kansas City Star
"The Cocktail Party is the strongest contribution to the bizarro art movement yet. It blends the best of unusual film, literature, and visual art to create something far more dense and compelling than most feature length films. If we're lucky, this will only be the first entry in the body of a genius filmmaker's work."
- John Edward Lawson, author of Last Burn in Hell
A black and white animation so vibrant you'll swear in a court of law that it was filmed in glorious Technicolor. - Bradley Sands, author of It Came from Below the Belt and editor of Bust Down the Door and Eat All the Chickens
Filled with beautifully hand drawn bewilderment, The Cocktail Party is a fantastic piece of bizarro film. Brandon Duncan has created a ten-minute masterpiece, an adaptation of a story by the exceptionally absurd mind of writer D. Harlan Wilson. Together these artists have given birth to a new breed of offspring that will surely catch the eye of those with a taste for true talent and originality. The Cocktail Party is a rare and wonderful gift. - Dustin La Valley, author of The Bleeding
We really enjoyed the film. Great story, great animation, great music. You
guys are both strangely talented (and that's a compliment)! I will
definitely show it to some friends. I think my son, Matt, will enjoy the
bonus CDs as well (I'm more a classic rock guy). -Jim Phifer
The Cocktail Party was great. I honestly thought, after watching the clips, there wouldn't be a lot of surprises but it far surpassed all expectations. -Andersen Prunty
The Cocktail Party blew me away! The animation was stellar and the soundtrack rocked. If you've read the short story, you have to see this, and if you haven't read the story, you really have to see this. Very fun. Now somebody pass me an appetizer.
Nicole Del Sesto - Author, All Encompassing Trip
"True to Wilson's story, The Cocktail Party is a perfect irrealist experience. A funny, mind-bending, visual masterpiece." -Gina Ranalli

I just wanted to let you know about my latest book. This one is being released through Delirium Books/Corrosion Press:
It features one book by me and one by the excellentest author I know, Jeffrey Thomas.
Here's a description:
Jeffrey Thomas and Carlton Mellick collaborate on their own twisted visions of heaven and hell.
UGLY HEAVEN by Carlton Mellick III
At one point in time, Heaven was a paradise. It was a blissful utopia full of wonders far beyond human comprehension. But that was a long, long time ago. The afterlife is now in ruins. It has become an ugly, lonely wasteland populated by strange monstrous beasts, masturbating angels, and sad man-like beings wallowing in the remains of the once-great Kingdom of God. As two recently departed souls arrive in Heaven, they discover their eternal home is not one of divine peace but of nightmarish ugliness. So they go on a quest to explore this dead alien landscape, desperately seeking answers, allies, and some sort of place they can forever call home.
BEAUTIFUL HELL by Jeffrey Thomas
A writer named Frank Lyre finds himself damned to an afterlife where Demons and Angels are equally sadistic and conflicted, where torturers become seducers, where Jesus likes to sit for a pleasant chat and God is not only going through monstrous changes to His body, but a personal crisis that might forever change His vision of creation. Beautiful Hell is a sequel of sorts to Jeffrey Thomas? acclaimed novel Letters From Hades, but stands on its own as a harrowing study of damnation and regeneration, physical passion and emotional pain, faith and rebellion, and the conflict between the spirit and the flesh.
I am very proud of this book. Please check it out.
"the cocktail party" is nothing short of brilliant! congrats on your award from the kansas city filmmakers jubilee! I look forward to seeing your future creations as well. Please share.
Personally inscribed copies of my novel All Encompassing Trip are available for advance order at Shocklines. Come on along! The book cover will take you there.
I just saw The Cocktail Party for the first time the other day over at Ricky's place. Hilarious!! I will have to buy a copy eventually here! Terrific work, keep the work tickin'.
By the way, I got a new bizarro Christmas book coming out ...
Plot:
For Matthew Fry, inventor of the 'Sly Guy' haircut, life at the North Pole just isn't what he expected. The elves are far too obsessed with playing Dungeons and Dragons, Frosty has a Hitler mustache made of coal, the reindeer have a tendency of exploding for no apparent reason, and Santa is a piratey mutant with a body made of sausages.
Just watched the segment you have here. Looks great. I'm really looking forward to seeing the whole thing. So cool that this project is coming to fruition. I hope it goes over very well.
I've befriended a few cocktails but this is the first time I've had the chance to befriend an entire cocktail party at the same time. This is great stuff! Best of luck with it!
