Band MembersJust me for now. Ultimately, I'd like two-three Guitar players, one-two Bass players, one-two Keyboard players, a Drummer and a Percussionist with at least four of the above providing Vocals.
InfluencesI suppose I've been influenced by every bit of music I've ever heard. I can hear the music amid the Industrial Noise that surrounds us. Rhythm in the raucous. Melody in the mayhem.

Hey feller - hope all is well. First live gig with MVM combo last night - what a heck of an amp this is..........I like it so much I've sold the Bassman!

Yo dude - please tell SteveD that I worked out the issue with the VM combo - had my settings all wrong and tonight I kicked its arse and it kicked mine right back. Man, guitar and amp in perfect harmony (or not, as the case may be). Still enjoying your fretboard musings and tone - keep plucking!

This amp is pure, majestic, tone - the best Marshall I ever heard by a long stretch......wahhhhoooooooo!!!

Hey man...yeah, I liked the milky-saturated-liquid...thats the way I'd describe the 1st song sound. Hey, I didnt' see you're response to my comment because you commented on your own page...there isn't a notification or anything when you comment on your own page. Maybe comment back onto my page and I'll know you wrote something...know what I mean?

Thanks Wolf, but are you serious? I mean, if you're sincere I apologize, but to me the guitar sounds I was getting recorded sucked compared to what I was hearing. It was an embarrassed and humiliated Altanon that upped those clips. They sounded so bad to me that I've embarked on a decent recording gear quest. So far that has involved acquiring an Akai MPK49 MIDI controller, an E-Mu 0404 Interface and the E-Mu 1212M sound card pair. Not to mention a shit-load of cables. Once my MIDI snake comes (THIS week, they assure me) I'll be able to hook everything up. At the point when I can mic my cab, I THINK it will sound much better, or at least closer to what I'M hearing at this end.

On the outside chance that you were serious, all the clips except Rusted Dust are just my RG760 Sennheisered into my TSL100, then DI'ed into my sound card, and recorded with Cubase SX 3. Rusted Dust was the Ibanez into my old Boss ME-50 (since my TSL was unavailable for the call) and on into the beast. I recorded it in Adobe Audition 2, then played around with some of the plug-in effects.

Of some note: ALL the effects from the ME-50 sounded like hammered shit, and I ended up recording the guitar totally clean (imagine what your guitar sounds like when it isn't plugged into an amp,) and adding everything "In The Box."

The clip is actually four different bits poorly cobbled together. The first part (in and out around an open A chord) I doubled the track, made each copy unique, and doctored them up with Guitar Rig 2 (obviously the Marshall Stack model!) then slightly offset the two tracks in time. (Just a few milliseconds.

The second part (all what I call inverted fifths) is four copies. One is the same Guitar Rig Marshall Stack model. Two is Rectum Fried. Three was just doubled and reverberated, and Four was this neat reverse thing I found that makes it sound almost like a Choir doing that wordless-voices thing I used to hear on my Mom’s old Jazz records.

The third part (which I shamefully refer to as the solo) was were the latency fucked-up my timing in one part, so I just Rectum-Fried the hell out of it and went on to…

The last bit is more of those inverted fifths whose sole redeeming part is a neat little two-string hammer-on/pull-off which, unfortunately, only occurs twice. The effects were the same as the first part.

Finally, I went through it trying to play will the levels in order to hide as much as I could, and with fading the various tracks in and out so it wouldn’t sound like a total hack job.

My first digital recording experiment…

Howdy! Hey, what did you use for the guitar sounds on your tunes? I've got some vids with the JVM on my page now. Crunch red and solos on OD1 green pretty much..just the Chasing Giants project stuff.
