Your Inner Child Is Surprised
You see many things through the eyes of a child.
Meaning, you're rarely cynical or jaded.
You cherish all of the details in life.
Easily fascinated, you enjoy experiencing new things.
You are nurturing, kind, and lucky.
Like mother nature, you want to help everyone.
You are good at keeping secrets and tend to be secretive.
A seeker of harmony, you are a natural peacemaker.
You are good natured and people enjoy your company.
You put people at ease and make them feel at home with you.
You are a spiritual soul - a person who tries to find meaning in everything.
You spend a good amount of time meditating, trying to figure out life.
Helping others is also important to you. You enjoy social activities with that goal.
You are very generous and giving. Yet you expect very little in return.
Your strength: Getting along with anyone and everyone
Your weakness: Needing a good amount of downtime to recharge
You're super sensitive and easily able to understand situations.
You tend to solve complex problems in a flash, without needing a lot of facts.
Decision making is easy for you. You have killer intuition.
The right path is always clear, and you're a bit of a visionary.
Christian, Electronica (Trance, Ambient, House), Breakbeat, R&B/PoP, Some Rap, Disco (yeah, so there :p), Rock, Easy listening, Jazz. I think that about covers it.
I do mix some stuff on ACID, have about 12 original songs so far. Music can calm the beast or something like that, and I find its often only while listening to music I can do things like *gasp* clean my room.
For some examples: Beck, Coldplay, The Postal Service, 4 Strings, ATB, ATC, BT, 3 Doors Down, The Verve Pipe, Nickleback, Linkin Park, Puddle of Mudd, Maroon 5, Finger 11, Prodigy, The Crystal Method, Fatboy Slim, Switchfoot, Newsboys, Audio Adrenaline, Dc Talk, Jars of Clay, The Elms, Orbital, Lightheaded, DJ GT and Project C, DJ Tiesto, U2, Dido, Darude, The Feeling, Augustana, The Killers, Moloko, Regina Spektor, The Killers more to come...^_^
Movies
Lucky Number Slevin, Collateral, Transporter, Unleashed, Last Samurai, Braveheart, Galaxy Quest, Top Gun, Minority Report, War Of The Worlds, Whole Nine Yards to name a few on top.
Also most movies with Jet Li, Jackie Chan, Harrison Ford, Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, Christian Bale, Tom Cruise, Willem Defoe, Natasha Henstridge, Natalie Portman, Kiera Knightley, and I will put more when I am reminded...^_^
Television
Heroes, The Office are my new favorites ^_^. Also, be it Battlestar Galactica, Angry Beavers, Fairly Odd Parents, Jimmy Neutron, Spongebob Squarepants or a good anime like Samurai Champloo, AniMatrix, or Ghost In The Shell, Gungrave or Shingetsutan Tsukihime I am a happy dude.
Food Network has "Good Eats" with Alton Brown which applies a more Bill-Nye approach to cooking that shows how it works on the science level. Iron Chef, either original or America, are both great in that its fun to see just how creative chefs can be when "the heat is on!" ^_^
Books
Alastair Reynolds is genius writer. He has a trio of "space opera"/space action sci-fi novels that really appeal to the intelligent. Reynolds having a Ph.D in Astronomy, he works for the European space agency, and writes for a sci-fi magazine, meaning he has the brains and experience to paint a future not to inaccurate. He also has many short stories and standalone books that are well worth the read.
The "Bolo" series spawned by Keith Laumer is a great sci-fi universe where man has created giant sentient tanks to wage war against alins, and sometimes the not-so alien. Short stories by many different authors, but also full novels by authors like William H. Keith often toy with the complexities of having a war machine that can think, and how to treat it, or maybe he or she...good reads for sci-fi war lovers.
The B-I-B-L-E. Basically the manual for life, the path it can lead you to is the one true God, and eternal salvation. On top of that, it can provide healing to the worst hurts, and hope for the darkest times. If you ever have questions, I would be more than willing to help...give me a message ^_^.
Becoming What God Intended is an awesome study to getting less religious about your relationship with God, and instead becoming more of a relationship, like a father to a daughter/son. Very good study to do over and over again, I catch new things all the time! Also good for small group studies. All inclusive book, even includes the discussed verses in the margins. GREAT study, highly recommend.
Heroes
Jesus Christ: Regardless of what disagreements are made, brought a lot of love, peace, happiness and hope.
William Wallace: The mans man. Left priesthood to start a revolution against a world power. Overall he was about an inch shorter than me, but this was more special because in his day and age (according to armor and clothing) most men didn't even reach the height of about 5 feet, and Wallace was about 6' 7"!
My dad and mum: Both came from broken and sometimes emotionally abusive childhoods, but worked hard to provide a better upbringing than they ever had. And they have done a wonderful job, I am blessed to have them.
I am an easygoing single college-going dude. I am also 6' 8.5" (no lie, I have witnesses). No basketball (get asked that a lot), got soured on it because I was in 5th grade but was being treated like an NBA player. There are few things I enjoy being competitive with, and bball isn't one of them. I do enjoy recreational levels of sports like tennis, paintball, airsoft, minigolf, bocce' ball, gruggling (group juggling), and weight lifting when I feel motivated ^_^.
I enjoy life in general. It's an experience, and even in bad times, I try to let them *re*fine me not *de*fine me. I enjoy finding people who I can put trust in to let me know when I am being an idiot. I also enjoy making friends with people who need friends who can understand tough situations. I once worked at a summer camp for kids, as a counselor in training, and you learn a lot about how to properly handle conversations, even if with someone you may never see/meet again. I also enjoy trying to find things interesting about people, getting past the obvious barriers down to who the person really is.
I have a belief in God that allows me to be comfortable around people who don't share my same beliefs, because I understand that the whole idea behind Christianity was to be able to love and talk with *all* people, not just your little comfortable cliques. I often find that people who claim to be Christian are often less accepting of people who don't follow the same rules they do than non-Cristians. Care not convert.
Meaning : If you are interested in what I got, great. If not, its not my job to forcefeed my beliefs, all that does is breed hate. Nuff' said.
I made a commitment to abstinence until marriage, as a promise to my future wife, whoever she is. I don't have the slightest clue who she is, but as the biggest gift I can give I made a promise to be true to her alone. It also means I can much easier get to know women because I already know the boundaries I have set for myself, and I can trust that my promise will keep me from making mistakes that can cause a lifetime of pain. I can say I have still been true to it too.
On other notes, I hope to get my degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, a degree that allows me to work in a field that handles things with moving parts. Seeing that most everything around us has moving parts, its pretty open and free, which is fine with me. Robots, Fuel Cell cars, stuff thats cool, futuristic and guaranteed to be world-changing. Dream jobs are to either work for a paintball company, R/C car company (Team Associated, Traxxas, Duratrax, CEN, etc...), firearms company (H&K, Taurus, Ruger, etc...), or LEGO.
In the end, though, I can boil it down to one phrase: "No worries forever" ^_^
Have a good day and thanks for your time...
You are calm and rational.
You are also giving and kind - a great friend.
You are easy going and trusting.
However, you are too sensible to fall for mind games.
Your Superhero Name is The Blind Protector
Your Superpower is Unexplained
Your Weakness is Peanut Butter Sticking to the Roof of Your Mouth
Your Weapon is Your Turbo Sword
Your Mode of Transportation is Slide
Oh, just hanging out in Spokane with some family and getting settled. I think that it's going to be a lot of fun! I am not looking forward to the actual move though...it's a long trip.
if you really think about it, whats the point of getting good gear once you hit the max level. since once you hit 80 after the new expansion is out... you know that in another year all your hard earned gear will become useless again. not being able to keep my status symbols is part of why i quit, not the main one tho :P.
hey Nate - youre an RC guy, would you happen to know anything about RC helicopters? - ive been thinking of getting a bottom of the line 4 channel electric one.
Haha! Jim Weston...good times. Not much going on here. I'm back in Bend for good. I Decided I need to be close to family and friends and not worry so much about getting a high paying/prestigious job.
I'll probably be going back to school in June to earn my masters and my teaching credentials. Until then I'll just be working at Barnes & Noble and substitute teaching. Talk about a high roller! No sugar mama yet either :(
Next time I'm in the K-Hole I'll let you know and we can do somethin'. Take care buddy!
Nate! It's been way too long since we last spoke via MySpace. So, here goes the standard line of questioning that usually follows such a gap in communication: How are things? Where are you living? How was the internship? Any new hobbies? Figure out a get rich quick scheme yet? Got a girlfriend? Any new guns? How's the VW? Umm...I think that's all I got for now. Take care buddy.
Hey Nate, Tell me what u think of this movie at this site http://www.zeitgeistmovie.com/ I know its long but its deffently worth watching. Expecally towards the end but don't skim it actually watch the entire thing.
My commute actually has been pretty good. I am not normally a big fan of public transportation, but it's actually not that bad. I just listen to some music while I travel, and use my time on the max to relax before school. It's kind of therapeutic in a way. =) I'll tell Corinne you said hi and all the other stuff too. =) take care buddy.
Hey Nate! I just wanted to let you know that I might be helping with the Den this Friday, so I'm not sure exactly how much time I'll have to hang out at the Way, but I'll try to sneak away to say "hi" and stuff if I'm working. They haven't let me know which group I'm in yet. Take care man!
