club visuals, art visuals, dub visuals, smart visuals.
i am vj chromatouch. and i'm one hungover sumbitch...
After studying Biochemistry for a short time whilst making electronic music, I decided that I was tone deaf and science was creatively blinkered (tho i'm coming back to it). After playing with multimedia and photography for a while I embarked on a short lived corporate web design career that quickly led to video editing et al. combining all these previously garnered skills I started djing and vjing in local clubs and pubs. Having started the Jigsawmusic night with the other founder members, things took off. Using animation, photography, video footage and rhythmic skills, I combine the elements into a truly organic digital experience. It’s like painting with light. I started Chromatouch Visuals as a business in mid 2005.
I have played on stages as diverse the Big Chill dance tent, Bloom Big Top & Main Stage, Que Club, Birmingham Hippodrome, Birmingham Town Hall, Glade Ambient Dome and the Thinktank theatre; from fields in the Yorkshire Dales to St Martins Church in the Bullring; organised international festivals and local basement parties; made films; worked with hypnotists and dancers.
As a Video Artist and Photographer i have exhibited in the Mailbox and Custard Factory, St Paul's Gallery, Claire Galleries, The Rep, Central Library as well as derelict tower blocks and shipping containers
I've VJed directly with Birmingham Dance Collective, Beat13, The Destroyers, Dub Pistols, DJ Sneak, Gilles Peterson, Maryanne Hobbes, 4Hero, A Guy Called Gerald, Felix Da Housecat, Quantic, Freddy Fresh, Metro Area, Maurice Fulton, Mixmaster Morris, Surgeon, Lydia Lunch, Glimmer Twins, Luke Vibert, IG Culture, Unabombers, Domu, Cosmo, Bugz in the Attic, Mark Pritchard, The Inspiral Carpets, Zero 7, Roni Size & the list goes on...

Hello Leon! Cheers for the thoughts :-) Chatted to Katriona & she said that her and Sergio might come to Manc again so we should organise a proper get together soonish. You got any gigs in manchester sorted yet? Anyway, take care and see you soonish... x
Yeah, everythings fine. Was just in Dublin for Hayley and Pauls wedding. Me and John are going off to Portugal for Crimbo so hopefully will catch up with you after that.
Ah *Ding, penny drops. The visuals were exceptional at our Malvern gig - loved the back projection of band on screen idea too. First time I had seen it done. Great luck with it all and hope to work with you again. Capn Bags.
