Chris Trapper Frontman of (The Push Stars) Guitar, Vocals, Keyboards.
NEW MUSIC available now!!!
17 new Chris Trapper songs in a collection called "Songs from the middle of the world" solo/acoustic rarities, vol 1. Trapper describes these as "very personal songs that I recorded along the way, sometimes between albums, and sometimes for albums, but left behind for one reason or another. I think most of these recordings have the feeling of reckless honesty, I guess, and maybe I was uncomfortable at first listen, because I wasn't exactly ready to say what the song called for." "either way, as I listen back now, I think there's a consistency to the material that lends itself to a collection, and a simplicity that reminds me of early blues or folk records."
CHECK OUT the DVD of the movie "August Rush" to hear a new song by Chris! His original song "This Time" is sung by actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers who stars opposite Keri Russell and Robin Williams. The song is also featured on the soundtrack. Chris wrote the song specifically for the film, and describes it as "a pining song, as Jonathans character realizes he has lost what could be the one true love of his life."
NOW PLAYING: "Pepper Dennis" in Australia. The Rebecca Romiijn comedy is now showing on channel 7 in the land from down under. The show features "Better Half" the Chris Trapper penned theme song, as well as other music from C.T."
ALSO PLAYING: "Sox Appeal" using Chris' song "Long Hot Summer" as it's main theme. This show centers around dating and Boston Red Sox games. (from the producers of "Queer Eye for the straight guy")."
The trick to the irresistibly organic, pure pop sound is that the music, and even the lead singer, take a back seat to the real star; the songs. As the principal songwriter and singer for nationally acclaimed alt-rock trio The Push Stars, Chris Trapper is equally sure-footed in his solo career. Chris writes, records and tours in support of his solo CD’s.
“Trapper sounds like the 21st-century young popster he is.” The Washington Post
“Chris Trapper plays unassuming pop rock with a touch of Big Star soul...” The Chicago Reader
His words and music can best be described as an interesting blend of 1950’s pop, 1990’s rock and old-timey jazz with the ever-present under story of Chris’ distinctive baritenor. It’s intricate power-pop with a compelling knack for telling everyday stories.

I saw you for the first time, and 3 or 4 times since then, at Red House in Syracuse, and have been hooked since. Any plans to make your way back? And, have you/do you perform "This Time"? If so, is it available anywhere?
