"Your music is really great Christopher, it's like, You don't need to be stoned to listen to it...it GETS YOU STONED"
- Mike Farrell
"Christopher Fairman’s songs are inclined to insinuate themselves into your consciousness when you aren’t looking."
"The heritage artist whose name Fairman’s music brings to mind most consistently is Nick Drake—like Drake, Fairman has the kind of ethereal voice that floats by, cloudlike, and his sweet, wistful songs aren’t so rigidly hemmed in by structural constraints, a quality that accentuates their ephemeral nature. This is gauzy music for lying on your back and watching the leaves fall down around you."
"Live, Fairman—especially as a solo act—tends to get lost in the emotional wave of his music, eschewing structure for wherever the moment takes him. That quality is still present on Born Broken, but producer David Houston has given Fairman a modicum of structural constraint that allows his music some definition.
The album, recorded over the past two years, also features a number of (Sacramento) area luminaries—guitarist Mike Farrell, drummer Matt McCord, singers Natalie Gordon (on the dandy number “Selfish Bitch”) and Sandy Leeper, along with the multi-instrumentalist Houston. But it’s really Fairman’s show."

Sacramento News & Review 10-11-07
"Christopher captures the beauty of an imperfect world here, and shows that the complex grind of love and life is an escapade to be savored. The production and guitar playing are an excellent match for his soulful voice."

Hey Christopher! Hope you had a good show last night :) I saw your bulletin and freaked out, 'cuz I thought you were at The Black Cat in DC and I missed the show!
Well, I missed it anyway, but only 'cuz we're on opposite coasts :)
heyyy you. long time no see. i was wondering if you were interested in playing any upcoming shows round these parts. we have a few dates in august... :)
What time do you go on? All of this, all of me being a shitty friend and not supporting you could be avoided if EVERY show you play wasn't the same night as a Buildings Breedings show. I'll be contemplating my indecision '08 but since you're going on a mini-tour and I see BB play all the time, i'll see you tomorrow night, mister. Or wait. Saturday? My mom got me a new accordion for my birthday and I got a glockenspeil. We can jam now. Danny's having a BBQ tomorrow at 7. You should come by. What I really want to do is go see the fireworks. That ignite. Everytime i'm by you. Baby. Hell yeah, America.
Actually, somehow I haven't gotten into any trouble yet. Except for last night when I freaked out Anton Barbeau: "Hey man, I came all the way from Sac to see you!" Something like that. But it's cool. We're like best pals now.
I think I'm second of three so I guess I'll probably go on around 9. Maybe you, Ricky, Natalie, and I could all sing "We are the World" or something like that.
Take that you spamming fiend! By the way you should come and be a "very special" guest on a couple of songs. That's a good phrase for you..."very special"...!
Good to play with you guys at Luna's last night. Songs sounded fantastic in duo form. Sorry to bail early... still was a long and drowsy drive back to SF! Take care.
Let's see Sex and the City! PS- my bday dinner is at Becky's at 6 pm on the 28th. Fondue and WHORE DEURVES. If you can make it, but im definitely come to yours afterwards. What do you want this year?
