Books
The Twilight Zone Companion, whatever magazines my photos happen to be in this month, A Brief History Of Time, Gene Simmons' books (love him or hate him, there's a lot to learn in 'em) and The Bible (love Him or hate Him, there's a lot to learn in 'em).
Heroes
My Grandmother, Father, Mother, Amanda, My brother and sister, Ed and Kathee, John Lennon, Pete Townshend, Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, The Glimmer Twins, Paul McCartney, Prince, Brian Wilson, Tony Clifton and his alter-ego (if you don't know him, Google him), Frank Zappa, Gene Simmons, Rod Serling (?), the people I call friends (esp. Lori, Shawn, Emily, Frank and Mike), Stormy, the Crustacean Sextet, Flossie Stahl and anyone who's made something positive from nothing.
About me: Here's something simple about me. I don't enjoy filling out these things "about me". No matter what one says, it comes across as either trying too hard or not trying enough. Ack! Oh well - here are a couple of basic, basic facts. Dig in for more.
I'm the singer / songwriter / guitar player for the band The Critical Darlings. We're based in Athens, GA. You can learn all you might want to know by checking out www.criticaldarlings.com. I'm also a photographer by trade (although, the band has definitely taken up more of my time lately). You can see my photography at www.concertshots.com. Other than that, I guess you can come in and check "me" out for yourself.
Who I'd like to meet: I'd like to meet me at 6 years old and me at 85 years old. I'd like to get the three of us together to discuss things. I think I'd be able to give the young me some special insights. I'd like to reconnect with that kid that I sometimes still see in the mirror and I'd like to give him a couple of warnings also.
Even more importantly, if the old me is in any way lucid, I'd like to GET advice from him. The three of us can just hang out, listen to music and eat SweetTarts. Well, maybe we'll have to ground up the old man's if he hasn't got teeth anymore. Or maybe he can handle Pixy Stix. Yeah, that'll work.
By the way, for those of you who have requested to see these pics, here's a few of the people I've already met in this here fancy, shmancy little slide show! Enjoy and feel free to comment on the photos by going to the photo section! ROCK!
As I've said before, you have an uncanny talent for expressing what I've often thought were struggles exclusive to me (and I'm sure there are others out there thinking the same thing). So, really, thank you for having the courage it always takes to put yourself out there and especially for allowing your listeners the opportunity to hear (and, in my case, identify with- hence the headline) your "primal screams."
And now I'm off to attempt to both calm down- I'm starting to really freak out- and yet get psyched up enough to get out the door for that thing tonight... yikes...
Thanks for the love ! Keep up your hustle . Dream Big and make it a reality !!!! Much love from the TNEB-RCP fam . Always looking to network . Stay in touch and let us know what ya got going on ! PEACE
Very nicely laid out argument. Just another reason to loath organised religion and pity it's mindless drones. Do I sound annoyed much? Sorry if I'm coming of as overly caustic, this is just one of my major peeves.
Hey Chris, REM have a new song 'Supernatural Superserious', love to hear what you think of it!!! It's at.. http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/page/forkcast/48521-rem-supernatural-superserious-stream
Sounds good! I have a friend who wants to come to a show with me, that's why I was asking. Also my mom and dad want to come see one if you guys have one in Greenville since that is super close to Asheville. They might come to an Athens or Atlanta show though if they had time, they love going down to Georgia for the weekends to see family and all that. Good luck on recording, I can't wait to see how things come along. March is a great month for shows by the way, I'll finally be 21!!! Yay! Peace, Gina
Yes! Defiantely a one of a kind thing, hopefully not for long though! Gotta show my suppoert for the best band ever right? Glad you liked it. I'm super proud of it and can't wait to wear it to the next show! Any idea on when that might be? Guess I should check the site first before asking huh? :) Thanks for the cd by the way, got it in the car and have been rockin to it everywhere I go all week! Hope your day is going well! Peace, Gina
Ok, so it's a little late but I hope you and Amanda have a very happy new year. But with the relationship you two have, I'm sure that won't be hard to achieve!!
Merry Christmas!!! Hope you had a great one. Wade was really sad last night at our family gathering. He is a lot happier today. He got Guitar Hero III from Santa. He loves it. He said "If I had a real one, I could play in Chris' band". I am going to try to get him one real soon. I hope we get to see you next time you are in town. Love, Ann

I guess you know you are Wade's best friend now. He said when he gets a MySpace you are going to be his first friend request. Thanks for everything. You have made a little boy really happy. Hope we see you again soon. Love, Ann & Wade
OMG - it took a little work, but you rocked the hell out of the place - you guys are uber :) Thank you for everything, for putting up with me, for your patience, for being there, for all the advice, but most of all, thank you for the catharsis and healing. I know MaryAnn was with us.
