Hi John great job you with PTM they had said you gave me some good thoughts, thank you. I'm also tossing you a line to look at the pictures that me and my wife took at the first show they came home to.. grant you it took the little road crew 16 minutes to set up for them.... PTM Ed
Congrats on the great production of Starving For Gravity's cd "Urgency"!!!
I would say:
Urgency UNwind your tongue Omaha
and
shotdown
are my to pics in that order I like the entire album, and I say this because I'm amazed on how a "metalhead" like myself (Metallica, Pantera, Manson, Rammstein, White Zombie, etc, etc) has become to loved this cd. Starving is my top pick amongs "new" bands I've discovered and followed over the past 2 years like Sick Pupies, The Dreaming, Unset, Cromwell, etc, etc.
But Starving's music is a new level and has set a new bar level on my taste.
Thank you very much for everything you have done and continue to do!! I have forwarded your message to Lucas, and will have him call you asap! Again, can't thank you enough.
Just wanted to thank you John for coming out last night to the Knitting Factory!! It is always an honor to have you, our amazing producer, to be there in support of us, and our album "Urgency". Means so much to us. You have a super weekend!! Peace, Love & Rock, Alex & Cyndee, and the entire "Starving For Gravity" family"

Wow! When I first saw your logo on Blackout 101's profile, it all came back like yesterday, being 15 years old, sitting in my room with headphones on listening to the Styx "Man of Miracles" album (which I still have)... just staring at the cover, wanting to be a rock star and wondering who Chicago Kid Productions was.
Well, I never became a rock star, but I'm doing my best to help others reach their dreams in music today.
Thanks for all the joy and inspiration you've brought me through your projects all these years.
Did you work with me on the WLUP "Chicago Rocks" LP? Absolutely! TWICE! Once with "Dreamer"-the song was "Radio" and the other was an early forerunner of techno called "Stereonucleosis" by a band called "Hot Luck". Because of the rules, I could only be listed by my real name once, so for the other tune "stereo.." I was listed as Dr. Fulton B. Warehouse.
I was the lead guitar for Dreamer, and Synth/vocals for Hot Luck.
You were very sensitive, generous and patient as a producer, and made the whole experience very satisfying. This was remarkable, considering that you were working with a bunch of studio greenhorns, full of their own snot because they won a contest. Both of the songs turned out the way we intended. Consider this a warm and grateful "Thank You" from the perspective of history-You were a consummate pro who treated me likewise, thus giving me the confidence to continue my career.
Dreamer went on to become one of the top local club acts in Chicago, and of the band, only I have continued to be a pro musician-I have been with Jim Peterik and the Ides Of March for 17 years, touring America and writing/recording with the group. I have also racked up a bunch of Commercial credits, and remain Jim Peterik's top call Hammond B3 guy for his projects, (and most of the other projects that stroll through his studio). I've also done a lot of work in TV, Radio and a few movies. (including the ORIGINAL indie movie that was remade as the blockbuster "Meet The Parents")
The credit list on my "My Space" is genuine, with no B.S.. You helped make that happen. Thanks again, Man.
Stay well, and keep in touch. Peace, Scott May
PS- check out the my space of a group called "The Tonelli's" in my favorites. I'd be interested in your opinion
It was John Ryan who recognised my song "I Love You" was a potential hit record.Sure enough he produced the song, it became a hit. Many thousands of people still love the song.
John,I'm eternally grateful.
Many thanks
Derek Holt.
