Heroes
Those who went before me, those who walk with me and those who shall follow. It's a new dawn, but the journey continues.
About me: This is Charles L. Chatmon AKA Chazz, a former English teacher and author of two books of poetry, The Depths of My Soul and The Voices of South Central. As a freelance writer, I’ve contributed to local college and community newspapers in addition to a few start up magazines.
Even though I’m involved in tons of projects related with the writing business, I'm quiet most of the time but once you get to know me, you'll find I have a lot to offer in a conversation, no matter the subject. I grew up writing and even to this day, that's my passion. Plus I love to read, hang out with my close friends and enjoy the simple things in life.
I'm the current co-founder of the California Writers Collective, executive director of the Los Angeles Black Book Expo, co-host on Mixed Matters (North Bay Media Review) along with finishing up future projects such as another book of poetry, my first anthology, and my first novel.
I’m also one of the co-founders of the California Writers Collective and since September 2006 I have served as the executive director of the Los Angeles Black Book Expo. With the CWC, I help coordinate writers’ workshops for the group.
I have a second page spotlighting my two books and poetry. So please check it out when you can.
Thanks for all the support so far in 2008. I plan to kick it up a notch and take it from there.
Who I'd like to meet: Authors, writers, poets and good people to know. I'm opening to making new friends, especially those who write poetry, enjoy literature and are just cool with no drama. Don't hesitate to say hi when you can. You're also welcome to drop by AuthorsNFocus.com where you can find writers' resources, interviews and a place for you to say hello!
