Charleston Swing was created to promote swing dancing in the Charleston area through its various forms including the Lindy Hop, The Charleston, The Balboa, Blues Dancing, East Coast Swing, and so on. We welcome all swing dance lovers, cause it don't mean a thing...
We are dedicated to developing swing music and dancing in Charleston, the historic city on the coast of South Carolina. We hope to promote and celebrate the music and vitality that come alive through the Charleston Dance, Lindy Hop, Balboa, Blues Dancing, East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, Jitter Bug, Rock n' Roll Swing, and a variety of group dances such as the Shim Sham and Big Apple. Music lovers and dancers are invited to help make CHARLESTON SWING!
As we round out FOUR years of Swing in the Charleston community, we have many exciting things to look forward to this year! Thank you for contributing to the growth of our swing community, and thank you to the venues that support our scene!
If you are interested in helping with the promotion and coordination of Swing Night and other swing events around town, please contact us! Spreading the word to new dancers helps us to keep costs down and to keep our venues (plus there are more people to dance with)! Our swing scene has grown so much, but there are still many dancers here in Charleston waiting to discover us! Let's work together to keep our scene alive and thriving!
--In early 2003, several Charleston swing dancers were filmed in the major motion picture The Notebook, which opened in movie theaters June 25, 2004. Watch the movie trailer, find more information, and view photos of the South Carolina landscape through the official movie website at www.thenotebookmovie.com.
Thank you very much for adding me. I would graciously appreciated it if you could please lend an ear to my new tunes and post a comment. It would be very insiring for me. All the best, Danny Ladd

I know that Swing night last night was probably kind of lame with so many dancers out of town, but we're back baby, with energy and ready to dance with everyone this Sat night at Majestic!!!!
