This Dutch rock band was founded in 1992, and recorded a demo tape a year later that received the ‘demo of the month’ award in one of Holland’s metal magazines.
Other European media were similarly impressed. Signing to Rock The Nation Records shortly thereafter, they re-recorded the songs before travelling to South River, New Jersey, to mix the finished album at Trax East Studios. Cold Sweat tapped the alternative sounds of Seattle and the Pearl Jam / Soundgarden axis as its main inspiration, also combining progressive elements drawn from a wider musical vocabulary (press comparisons included Dream Theater).
